Good on camera mic that fits
It’s a Sony mic and it fits the FX6 microphone holder. I had a spacer and a sennheiser mke600 which is a good on camera mic but it’s long and got in the way. I saw this and thought “well I only need it on camera for scratch audio or scrum interviews, why not?”That said, the mic performs solid. If you have a Sony and want a small mic that sounds good enough and gives you the smaller footprint you want, then look no further. I honestly can’t tell the difference in my news pieces and neither can my boss so, I recommend it!

OEM Replacement at a much lower price!
Purchased to augment an older ECM-XM1. This one is used with a Sony HXR-NX80 NXCAM. The fit was a little loose even with the included, rubber sleeve; too loose for my use filming action sports on the run, so I had to thicken the clamped area of the mic with a couple rotations of electrical tape. Since it cannot be seen while connected to the XLR handle, all is good and all is secure. Performance wise, it replicates the fine quality of the original, Sony purchased ECM-XM1. Best of all, the price is significantly lower than purchasing through one of the big, NY Photo/Video superstores, and was delivered within 3 business days! (XLR cable and sleeve included).

Packing is poor but microphone is nice
Looks not brand new, the package is like used packaging, but the microphone is okay

Item is as described - great on camera mic
I have ordered this mic from two sellers now. Both came as described. Happy to have this mic for my Sony FX series cameras, as they fit the not so great Sony mic mount perfectly, and sound good enough to get the job done as on camera mics. Will likely get a third once I have another camera in need of a scratch mic.

Nice Complement to the PXW-X70
I was planning on buying the Sony HXR-NXU camera that comes with this microphone, but since that camera has been discontinued, I opted for the more recent PXW-X70 which does not include a microphone. I bought this microphone to make my PXW-X70 ready to go. For the price, this microphone does quite well. At a distance of about 6 feet the mic does a great job of picking up a (human) speaker at a great level without picking up any peripheral sounds - making this great a great mic for interviews or talking-head type broadcasts/videos. Don't expect it to pick up ambient noises - this is a shotgun mic. In post, there was a slight white noise floor which could be the audio unit on the camera or the mic, but it is very easily eliminated with gating and/or noise reduction.

Purchased for my Sony FX3 handle
This microphone is affordable and works great with the Sony FX3 handle. on professional, corporate video shoots. It works great as a back up mic for me, especially if you have a Lavalier mic, or a boom mic closer to the subject. It’s not the same quality as a Shure mic, but if you’re within a few feet of the subject, it works well.I’m giving five stars because the quality matches the price of the mic well.
