Extech MO57 Pin Less Moisture Meter, Green

Having spent considerable time with this on several days, as I was determined to work out how this can be useful to me, I have to inform you that I’m giving up.The first model did show all sorts of erroneous results. The replacement model seemed to be a little more differentiated than the first one, but it is in no way sufficiently sensitive to show areas of higher and lower moisture.The model indicates 99.9% everywhere where I also suspected moisture. So it that sense it works, however, there seems to be no differentiation – meaning that some areas will be more damp than others. And it doesn’t show that.Unfortunately it is not working as advertised and I therefore cannot use it as intended. I returned it.

Utterly useless. When testing completely dry internal walls, it gave readings of 100%. Yes, it was set on masonry. It's identical to a cheap pronged meter I have, but with the pinless ball instead. Same buttons and display. I bought it after previously having a leak detection survey done and noting the equipment the surveyor was using. He had the more expensive model, which I suppose I'll need to buy if I want something that works. Returned.

Always shows much higher moisture reading than legit meters

I should have read the reviews before buying.I thought this would be useful to monitor drying of concrete and cement-screed floors... but when set to the "Building" masonry mode it just displays 100% moisture on all concrete or brick or block or plaster surfaces.
