Classic Game, Perfect on the Go
I loved Dark Souls when it first came out, so grabbing the Remastered edition on Nintendo Switch was a no-brainer and it doesn’t disappoint. The game runs great and it’s awesome to have the full experience both online and offline, whether at home or on the go.Still just as challenging and rewarding as ever, and now I can dive into Lordran from anywhere. A must-have for fans or anyone ready for a real adventure.

Finally, "Dark Souls: Remastered" on Nintendo's Switch!
This is the 1st AAA Bandai Namco game that I got for the Switch. And it's actually the first time I've ever played a Dark Souls game. I did try out the Network Test version of the demo before this game came out. And the final version runs pretty well on Switch. Shout outs to Youtubers like RGT85, SpawnWave, Dreamcast Guy, and online sites like IGN and Nintendo Life who gave this game a recommendation.Of course no spoilers, expect to die a lot and there will be frustrations. But you will figure out to learn from your mistakes and how to pull off strategies to beat your opponents and bosses in the game. And once you've beaten certain bosses that were tough as nails, you may feel a sense of great accomplishment. This version may not have great graphics and better visuals like on other platforms like the PS4, PC, and XBOne. But it still runs great on Switch! On handheld & tabletop mode it runs at 720p 30fps. And on docked (TV mode) it runs at 1080p 30fps.So far, I've put over 375 hours on this game, even though I haven't reached the final boss. Can't wait to try this game online to play with friends. This just became one of my favorite games on Switch, next to TLOZ: Breath of The Wild which I'm still currently playing on Wii U. Taking this game on the go is a plus whether you're offline or online. Overall, I highly recommend this game to hardcore gamers and to gamers who just want a bit of a challenge! ;)Update: 6/13/2019 - So far I've logged in over 580 hours. And (spoilers) after finally reaching the final boss which took me five to over six tries, I have finally beaten the game for the first time! Whew, what a relief! Thanks again to Bandai Namco and FromSoftware. They've made a great classic action/rpg video game. Thanks to them for releasing this for the first time on Nintendo's console, a hybrid console, Nintendo Switch! Can't wait to replay this game again. (Spoilers) Just found out after beating the game, I get to use all the items, and weapons that I've acquired from the first game on my second playthru. Definitely, game deserves 5/5 Stars!! ;)

Portable Dark Souls
This is a solid port of a phenomenal game. I'm about 4 hours in, and I've visited most of the areas that caused the original version to run like a slideshow. It runs fairly stable for me, especially in handheld mode. I don't know if the switch was having more trouble outputting 1080p or if I just noticed it more, but it felt less smooth docked. The online wasn't up when I was playing it, so I don't know how well this version works online. My only minor gripes are that the hud scaling options were omitted, making the UI pretty tiny in handheld, and the buttons for confirm and cancel are greyed out in the button mapping menu. B to confirm and A to cancel takes some getting used to when coming from a game that uses Nintendo's scheme. This is a phenomenal game, and if you haven't played it or want a solid portable version, this port is great.Update: the online experience is the same as any other version, in all its broken glory. With more time in docked mode, this port has some interesting frame rate issues. It runs at 30fps at 720, but does stutter a bit at 1080p. The interesting part is that it seems to have trouble when a bunch of character models are on the screen. In the undead parish zombie spam area, for instance, when all the hollows are on the screen their animations run at about 15 fps. Another place this is noticeable early-game is with the hellkite dragon's tail viewed under the bridge. It runs in slideshow mode for the first 5 or so seconds that it is on screen, then smooths out. This issue only affects the animations, the game itself seems to keep running at 30.Despite the animation issues, I am going to keep this at 5 stars; If I want buttery smooth performance I have a PC. This is still a portable version of the game, and at the day that's all I wanted.

Unexpectedly Amazing Port on Switch
It is the most authentic port of the game, and I could not believe that its on the switch.

Praise the Sun!
Dark Souls... what's not to love? Well, the fact you have to pay for a Nintendo Online Subscription in order to access the multiplayer aspects. Really sucks the fun out of co-op when you can't actually play online without jumping through hoops and a monthly fee.Aside from that? It's the same beloved Dark Souls we've all come to know and love. Praise the Sun!
