Fantastic Modem, Great Service, Best Price!
Works fantastic, I currently added this to an existing 20GB AT&T family share plan as a new number with zero problems. I tested it first on my laptop (USB 2.0 ports for all those saying otherwise) and got about 13Mbps down, 4mbps up with 2-3bars of LTE service. Once I was done running the speed tests and some simple web browsing, I plugged it into my Cradlepoint MBR1400 H/W 1.0 and its been running for a week non-stop with zero downtime while maintaining same constant Speeds. I later added my old modem (Sierra Wireless 313U, Same AT&T service) and load balanced them for boosting the max possible speed to about 20mbps down, 7mbps up. The on-board screen is great, it doesn't show how much data the modem itself has used but rather the entire plan data total (not that it matters considering the MBR1400 has daily data caps put in place that reset each day to help prevent data overage). All in all, I would recommend this modem to anyone looking for a reliable connection to the internet for any internet related task and have a sense or need to know how much data there using as they use it. Thanks to this modem (and my older one) I can actually have broadband internet at cable speeds rather than the dial-up service that is the only internet service offered in my area. (Besides satellite which is limited to weather conditions) UPDATE: Its now been almost 3 months sense I purchased and activated this device. I leave it attached to my Cradlepoint Router 24/7 and it has never failed. I have never gotten a stale data connection (when the connection is active but data is not willing to flow) or any other problem others seam to have had mentioned in there reviews. I am very happy with this purchase and know that I can rely on my internet connection staying up without drop outs or failures. I have also recently purchased the Netgear MIMO external antenna to plug into the device to improve speed, reliability, and the ability to mount the modem itself to the wall next to the window with the best reception to improve data capability and to keep the device out of the sun as both UV radiation and heat are bad for electronics. I will be leaving a review on this antenna after I test it for a bit. Does not work with Windows 10
I've been on tech support with AT&T and Dell for over 2 hours, they can't get it to work with windows 10. It works just fine with Windows 7.

No longer supported: missed!
This was the best aircard when I got one originally from AT&T decades ago. They don't support these anymore 😪 These were so helpful when travelling.

BEAM me up with this AirCard from AT&T
This took a lot to get working but it was worth it. Many steps later and two trips to the AT&T shop this now does the trick. It is fast enough for internet music and plugs in and turns on in 2 minutes and tunes in to the 4G world which is everywhere especially in the great outdoors. I showed it off to someone who had no internet yet, and it was a big hit.

A phone call to NetGear pay-per-incident found that Netgear aka Sierra Wireless does not support Linux. This product comes configured with Windows 8 firmware, which must be reconfigured for any other OS. Upon plugin, it presents itself as a storage device, which must be switched to a serial device. The latest Linux kernel will do that, except that the 340U is not among the aircards in the Debian usb-modeswitch-data database.
