They are a solid plastic ball, not the softer ball as advertised in pictures. They are also very loud.

These mini balls are great for training hand-eye coordination which is a weak spot in my game. They are not like the real thing though, not only in size, but in response, so I'm not sure it would be helpful for other parts of your game practice. I, personally, appreciate them for accuracy training.
