(ISC)2 CISSP Official Practice Tests 2nd Edition

First off, if you go through these exams, just expecting to remember the answers for the actual exam, you're doing it very wrong. What this does help with is let you know what you need to study up/refer to in the official study guide, and help define what material you need to spend more time on. What it also helps with is getting you some practice on how to approach these questions, and weed out the answers that are wrong. For the actual exam, you must actually know the material, and this book is a piece to the much larger puzzle of getting yourself prepared.I never actually used the book, so I purchased the Kindle version. The real value with this purchase is the online versions of the test, and you get access to the practice tests for a year after registering. Completely invaluable, and very helpful.

This is super-helpful, it helped me pass the exam. What is really useful about the book is that it gets you a year subscription to the online testing system that automates these practice exams. You can use this with your kindle on the go and use the interactive web version when you are on your desktop computer. Just one warning, there are a lot of older versions of this guide for sale floating around on Amazon. The CISSP test changes all the time. This was the most current version as of the time that I took the exam, but they refresh the material at least bi-annually. Make sure that you are getting the latest edition.

Great Book. It prepares you to pass the CISSP Exam and also covers the key information a CISSP needs to know toperform well in the field. I found the book coupled with the sybex online tests mimicked the actual CISSP exam very closely.I Highy recommend this text if you want to pass the CISSP Exam. After studying this book I finished the 3 hour exam in 1.5 hours and passed.

I passed the CISSP on my first try - and this was a useful tool. My main reason for this was to get access to the online component so I could take them online and not worry about marking in the book or using pen/paper.I will admit of the 3K+ practice questions I did from this book and other online resources that few questions appeared on the actual test - if any. Use the practice tests to make sure you understand the underlying concepts and also as a tool to identify what you are weak in - not as a real indication of what the test will be.

I highly endorse this system and recommend that you buy the combo study guide/test book set, access the online test site, and follow Mike's recommendations.Read the material, take the tests in the books, take the online tests and keep taking them.The amount of information covers many subjects, but if you follow Mike's recommendations you'll be ready. How long your preparation takes depends on your previous and current exposure to the subjects covered but you will get it if you stick to it.Again, get the books, take the time to prepare, test, test, test and you will be ready.Good luck!

I recently passed the CISSP exam and I complemented my studying with this book. Probably the most common advice people give you to pass the CISSP is to think like a security professional: don't fix the problem but instead, put on your security consultant hat and do what a security professional would do. The questions in this book are designed in a way that you must use the same thought process you'd use in the real exam. It was extremely helpful and I strongly recommend this book.

This book was an integral piece of the toolkit that I used to help prepare for (and pass) the exam. I wholeheartedly agree with folks that stated that you shouldn't rely on it (or any one item) as the sole resource. The questions covered all of the domains and they gave sufficient (though not overly detailed) explanations for most of the answers. I used the online test bank vs. the hardcopy for obvious reasons (easily tracking progress, etc.) Highly recommended.

After doing the domain tests, I delayed my exam a month. They are hard tests. Going to take exam January. This is a fantastic and absolutely necessary tool. Don’t let it be disheartening when you mess up the domain tests, just learn from them. Trust me when I say, use this and maybe 11th hour for a summary and the free skill set videos on YouTube and you will pass. Good luck.
