Sky DRX890WL HD Set-top Box (Renewed)

Our old Sky+HD box died over Christmas and, not wanting to upgrade to Sky-Q because we have a setup that allows us to watch the same Sky channel in 4 rooms, we decided to try a refurbished box. Firstly, nothing about this box looks as if it's refurbished as it's in pristine condition and arrived well packaged with remote control, power lead, HDMI cable and even new batteries. However, this was not an absolute like-for-like replacement as we had ordered the newer model with built-in wifi and this soon became apparent as I moved cables from the old to the new. Telephone line and wifi connector no longer needed but I also realised that, as there was no aerial input & no RF output ports, we would need to order a RF Output Modulator, which is on it's way at a cost of £16.75. Everything else has worked like a dream. Wifi connected first time and has been stable since (we were forever having to reset the external Sky connector). Remote control worked from the off and, using the old Sky+HD box as a temporary conduit for the aerial to other rooms, we're all happy.

I bought this box as a replacement for a slightly older version. This new one didn't have an RF out which was a bit of a disappointment as I use that extensively around the house. However a Triax IO link soon sorted that out - the only problem is that's yet another power socket required, it takes up a bit more room on the shelf and the additional short cables are a bit more messy. The unit itself worked beautifully and was easy to install and no trouble pairing the Sky card with it. Turns out though that I didn't really need it as my original problems were caused by the Sky card. A replacement from Sky put everything right,. I do though have a newer receiver with a bigger hard drive plus a wi-fi connection that I didn't have before.

It was a straight forward swapover and it's working as designed.

Not working. I got one of these boxes as my old one had packed up after 10 years of usage! This item just displays a "no signal" message, I've tried all the usual tricks of resetting the box, updating/reloading the software and even switching to the single feed option in the settings menu. I will be returning this box and have instead upgraded to sky q as I was offered a great deal with sky!

Sky card cover missing

I was very happy to be able to replace my sky hd set at such a low price. Nicely packaged with care with a brand new remote. Installing was very easy and I was able to use the same viewing card I had in the old set. So hassle free replacement, a very good service, very impressed indeed.

The product seems to work very well,there were a few small gouges one one side of box but there was that many people saying there's looked practically brand new, that I've probably been expecting too much.Picture quality doesn't seem quite as good as on the TV, aerial terrestrial setting but it's pretty good. It's pretty good value for money,all in all, it hopefully will do me a very good job. for a decent time.
