This was a beautiful train set with an intuitive controller and fit round a Christmas tree. I loved playing with it, and so did my three-year old, but the tracks and trains are much too delicate for them, and it’s really finicky to get all the wheels on the track. I didn’t realize this was a professional train set, not well suited for young kids (but probably fine for 8 and up).

I purchased this set to compliment a large layout put up for the community here in Northern Michigan. It worked perfectly out of the box, entertaining dozens of visitors as it chugged along without a problem. Well-made for an inexpensive set, so highly recommended. Adult supervision is recommended.

I bought this right before Christmas of 2023. I have an ice cream store with a huge front window and wanted to use the train in the window along with other mini houses, trees, etc. The first year we put it in the window, the train kept coming off the track. It was brand new so I felt it shouldn’t be doing that. My husband had electric trains in the past and knew what he was doing when setting it up. Since we were unable to keep it on the track, we ended up not turning it on. It kind of ruined the display as our little customers asked if the train worked. This past Christmas, we made sure the track was on a level surface, we cleaned the track with special track cleaner, replaced a couple areas with new tracks and made sure no obstacles were in way the of the train. Once again, the train continued to jump the track. It would go around a couple of times but never lasted more than a few passes before once again jumping the track. We tried multiple times but it just wouldn’t stay on the rails. I am going to put it in the trash as it’s no use to us as it doesn’t do what we bought it to do. I will buy a new one for next Christmas but not sure what brand it will be. I will also check reviews more carefully. I paid more for the train than it’s selling for now. If I’m going to spend $200 or more on an electric train, I want it to work. I’m very disappointed in the quality of this item.

Adorable, smaller than I thought, and hard to set on tiny tracks. Gets off track easily if it’s not set up higher and away from things, not recommended under tree with presents to get to!

OH what a pain in the neck. Every time I attach a piece of track, another comes loose. It's impossible to get each train car I the track correctly AND connected. Any bump at all and they come off the track. Also it won't tolerate any floor differences at all (carpet to hard floor). The track comes loose and the train stops or derails.We finally went to Home Depot and bought a $35 48x48 inch piece of plywood. Then the entire train set was assembled on the dining room table, instead of on the floor under the tree. Then we took the tree out, laid the plywood and track down at once, then put the tree back. Now it works pretty good.

Nice quality train. My grandfather collects them and he loved this. Made well and works well.
