LG Electronics 14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Heat and Dehumidifier LP1411SHR

Won't heat a 200 sq. Room. Air comming out is usually only about one or two degree warmer than the present room tempature. Not worth half the price. Wish I had never ordered the product.

This unit was purchased refurbished with only light seasonal use for cooling in Minnesota's climate. Worked very well when it worked. I feel the issue is reliability. There's a reason there are a lot of refurbished units available. This unit has less than 90 days use over 2 seasons. The portable was bought to replace a smaller less efficient window unit that had been used for years with no issues. We're out of luck and $400.00 bucks. I wouldn't purchase this again, a one year warranty is not sufficient on a new unit.

I love LG air conditioners. I've had one prior to this and I love it. It was on sale when I bought it, can't beat that !!! Very reliable and energy efficient too. I did have a problem with the unit when it arrived, but that has been cleared up. I will ALWAYS buy an LG A/C unit.

Absolute Junk! I've felt fans that were colder than this LG AC unit!Ok I bought this LG LP1411SHR because it was most powerful portable AC unit in the store, and it waseither that or GE window units at Home Dep*t.Seemed to be a bit expensive but I had tried a smaller LG portable AC unit just prior, which was highly ineffective in my room which is about 500 sq feet, with some windows that get major sun. I took it backimmediately the next day.The smaller LG portable seemed to fail at getting very cold.. so during the return they told me to go with a bigger unit and since I had HD credit I did.. there were very few options and thisbeing the top of the line with 14000 btus, it should have no problems cooling my room, and the added features of a humidifier, and heat option was very cool as I need heat in the winter.So on with the bigger, better LG unit (LP1411SHR).. I've had it now for just over a week and it sucks... It can't cool my room properly at even the highest setting in cool mode.. total bummer!Standing next to the unit it does not even feel very cold! I think I've felt fans that were colder than this thing! ..and btw, I have tried re-routing the exhaust hose and made sure its set up properly...Also I am in an old house.. my fuse blew so I moved it over to the other side of the window to reach the other plug... the floor must be off a little.. because the unit just dumped water out all over my floor! That was not cool to wake up to and could have caused some serious damage to my hardwood floor, house, etc., had I not caught it in time! At first I wasn't sure if the unit was malfunctioning, or that the water tray was full (it did not show that it was on the display) and tried to engage the water pump but that did not turn on... so I had to put a tray and fill a bucket.. Finally I decided it had to be the floor (which is not off by much if it is) and when I moved it back to the original side I had it on the leaking stopped. Ok so that does not seem very portable to me if it cannot handle a few ruts/bumps/unevenness in the floor!For me the worst part is just a complete lack of ability to get cold.. The air coming out is just not very cold.. On super hot days its very relaxing to stand in front of a cold AC breeze--who doesn't do that!?--but with this unit there just is no cold chill coming out... absolute junk!To LG: you guys really dropped the ball on your portable AC units! They should be rated less than half of what you are putting on the box... I say that because my roommate has a 7,000 btu older window unit (not LG brand) and it cools his much larger room quite well..Conclusion: This unit does not cool very well at all.. has trouble blowing cold air, period! Get something that actually works! JUNK!

The 14,000 BTU rating is a joke. When you stand directly in front of it, you can feel cool air. Other than that, the room feels just as if there is no ac. I put it in a 400 square foot insulated room with low ceilings and it is barely noticeable.The only reason I give it 2 stars is because it cooled my 12x15 bedroom by about 10 degrees when the central air was out. Even though it took all night to reach that, it still slightly cooled the room nonetheless. Based on that, I'd say it is about 4-5000 BTU's.

Unit works well up too 85 degrees ambient temperature, above that and the comppressor well run hot and trip on oveheat safety. Very poor design do not recommend.
