Great Flavor, Solid Choice for Everyday Espresso
Lavazza delivers a really smooth and flavorful espresso bean that’s become a regular in my coffee rotation. The aroma is rich, and the taste has a nice balance of boldness and smoothness—no bitterness, which I appreciate. It’s great for both straight espresso and milk-based drinks like lattes and cappuccinos.I’m giving it 4 stars only because I wish the freshness lasted a bit longer after opening, even when stored properly. Still, it’s a great value for the quality and definitely better than a lot of other beans I’ve tried in this price range.A great everyday coffee for espresso lovers!

Reliable, Smooth, and Grinder-Friendly—My Daily Driver for Over a Decade
After more than a decade of chasing the perfect espresso bean for my built-in Thermador machine, I keep circling back to this medium roast Lavazza like a caffeine-fueled homing pigeon. It all started with a search for a trustworthy subscribe-and-save bean—something that wouldn't break the bank or the grinder. I remembered Lavazza from my travels in Italy, where the coffee is good enough to make you question your life choices. So I figured, why not start with the classics? And honestly? It delivers. This medium roast might not be a show-off, but it punches well above its weight class. It’s smooth, balanced, and rich with chocolate notes and a smoky aroma that whispers, not shouts. Most importantly for me—and probably for anyone who’s ever had to pry out gunked-up beans from their grinder with a butter knife—this coffee runs dry and clean. Unlike the wetter beans from Starbucks, Kirkland, Peet’s, and Kicking Horse, these glide through my Thermador like they were made for each other.Sure, the Super Crema is a little more flavorful, but this one wins in the reliability department. And when you're under-caffeinated at 6 a.m., reliability is king. Or at least barista.Bottom line: for the price, flavor, and machine-friendliness, this medium roast Lavazza has earned a permanent slot in my pantry. It might not make me an espresso snob, but it sure keeps me a happy sipper.

Good Stuff!
Better tasting and less expensive than other brands. I have been using this coffee for several years in my automatic espresso maker and can't imagine using anything else of this quality. However, if the price continues to go up I will find something else to replace it.

Great coffee, fresh!
Well I'm getting annoyed with the quality that's not consistent. Today I got decent beans finally with the nice smooth flavor and body. The beans last month were soury and had a tarteness I don't like. I thought these beans were going to be disappointing because they were older, but actually they taste great and had a nice head/crema. The bag wasn't squashed like it has been in previous orders, I'm not sure if that has something to do with it but I'm guessing it's the quality of beans. The ones months ago were great and I think the ones I recieved today are from that roast. The ones last month were three months old, drinkable, but not the flavor I expected. I do love these when they're the normal flavor. I'm not a fan of citrisy coffees, I like a nice smooth mouth full bodied coffee, berry and chocolate, nutty. And when it's good that's what this is.These beans were fresh and just roasted a month before delivery. I'm quite happy with the quantity and quality. The espresso roast is my favorite, it's a medium roast that grinds in my burr grinder with ease. I've used it for pour-overs and previously espresso in my breville. It makes a great standard cup. I've had an issue with finding beans that taste like coffee without the fruity/winey notes that I'm finding with many coffees. I like my coffee to taste rich and more on the savory side, I add some cane sugar or maple syrup for sweetening. Occasionally I'll make a latte. Sometimes I drink it black. This roast has been consistently good, and I like the 100% Arabica beans. Will most likely order again as it's reliable and my coffee comes out decent even in different brew styles, and the value is really unmatched.
