Perfect for boosting volume and quality on a ps4 headset
I do actually think this is under rated in the reviews. Not sure what people expect for £49I purchased this only for one reason...I bought a brand new pair of Razer Kraken headphones for the ps4 and they plug straight into the controller of the ps4 via 3.5mmThe volume is way too soft for me.I needed something to boost my volume to get the most out of the headsets. Weird as you pay so much for a decent pair of gaming headsets.I purchased the Soundblaster G1....it worked wonders on the PC but on the PS4 it actually sounded softer than before. Soundstage was better tho.I returned this and got the G3.The G3 is exactly what I needed. It boosts the sound more than my actual needs and enhanced the sound by quite a lot.I had an issue with the setup as at first I split the headphone cable to a mic/headphones splitter that came with the headphones and these went into the two 3.5 jack's respectively. Then I plugged the optical cable into the optical jack on the G3 as well. The usb of the G3 went into the front of the ps4 and the optical into the back of the ps4.All worked fine but all my mates complained about an echo when they spoke...not when I spoke.I tried everything to fox it but no joy.In the end I found a YouTube video explaining the setup. The issue was that the headphone should not be split...you should go only into the headset and optical on the g3. The mic jack is only for a mic that is seperate to the headset.Once I changed this it fixed the echo.Amazing boost for ps4 headphones

Does what it says on the tin
Have you got a 250 Ohm pair of headphones and want a cheap sound card that can drive them? Then this is the one. It's cheap, you can use your phone ( it connects via Bluetooth & Type C ), they even give you a small Type C -> USB adapter. Not the best sound quality, but it's £40 and it drives my DT 990 Pro. The software is good, way better than Creative usual, didn't really like the unlimited volume control which got a bit annoying.

Good sound for when it works properly
This little sound card outputs great sound when it works properly. What do I mean? Using it on my phone and PS4 works well, without any issues. I had some crackling sound while playing some games, but that is very rare. On the PC, for when it works well, it outputs great sound after you tweaked the setting in the CC. However, I have issues with crackling sound very often. It's so annoying, it ruins all the experience of watching films or listening to music. I wanted to throw it in the bin... multiple times. I feel like I wasted my money.I had a Audigy 2ZS long time ago, which was great, but it had problems with the drivers. I was expecting Creative fixed their drivers... after more than 10 years. Most likely the crackling sound is because of Windows, and their drivers, but still Creative should fix this problem. Even the SoundCard that came with headset works without any problems because it's Plug and Play. Creative, this G3 card should be Plug and Play, to work without any issue. Would be nice if Creative fixed their drivers...My 3 stars is because I have that crackling sound on a Windows device. Sound quality is good, the app on the smartphone is useful, but I shouldn't have a problem like I have on a Windows PC. I have tested on 3 PCs, it's the same outcome. I had a chat with Creative Customer Service, but for nothing...

Horrendous
Google Sound Blaster G3 issues and you will quickly realise how flawed this DAC is. The main problem is that the device cannot drive even low impedance 32 Ohm headphones - my Legion 5 onboard audio and PS5 controller does much better. On top of that Windows drivers are broken, the card keeps crackling and the only way to fix it is by changing the quality from 48 kHz to 96 kHz and back again to 48 kHz (this is affecting many people that have shared their poor experience online). PS5 volume control is messed up as well - the volume knob is reversed - you have to turn it down towards minus marking to increase the volume. Just get something else instead.

Has intermitent cracking sounds
Bought it to amplify the sound from a set of Beyerdynamic headphones connected to PC. At first I loved the product but after a month I've noticed a cracking sound from the headphones. The headset is fine and it doesn't happen with cheaper non brand usb sound cards. This issue is pretty common if you google it, I haven't found a solution. Now I'm stuck with a useless device. For people looking into an USB amp for their headphones - avoid this amp, it's simply a bad product. Don't waste your money and look for something better for the same price ex. got myself a Behringer MICROAMP HA400.

First portable gaming DAC
It is good so far. Paired with Hyper x Cloud II on pc to play competitive game (PUBG PC). But only use default stereo setting for competitive, not recommend to use any on-board profiles unless watching Netflix or Youtube.
