UPDATE: customer support has promised to send a replacement. So i've moved my rating from 1 to 3 stars. will update upon receipt of the new unit, and pending its actual performance. Unboxed these lights, connected them to a battery and tested them out. Everything seemed fine, i could change the color and other settings with the remote, and then the remote stopped working. I've tried replacing the button battery in the remote, unplugged and reconnected the lights, yet the remote fails to work. I could not imagine relying on these in an emergency.

This light is bright and colorful and the remote worked. However, even though the light is made of stretchy silicone, the wire inside is separate, so pulling even slightly on the light broke the wire inside. This happened three times until only a few inches of the light lit up anymore.The light is made of 4 pieces, yes four wires need to be plugged together to get it to work. One of these is a four-pin connector that just gently plugs together; so at the slightest jostle it slips out and the lights go out.There is also no rolling color mode—all the lights change color at once, there is no color marquee mode.This light works but with these issues, I would look for a different light. Next time I will look for a light that is embedded in the plastic, is one piece, and has a marquee mode.Edit: The seller kindly contacted me and refunded my order, AND offered to ship a replacement. I declined the replacement, but know that they have good customer service!

I bought three of these units. Two worked great, and one lasted about a minute and died. I've requested a credit, and will order a replacement. I do like the lights, and use them on kids scooters and bikes for short rides at night. They are very bright, and last quite a while on a small 3500 mah battery. I think I just got a defective control unit. I wish the control unit had an on/off switch to shut the lights off at the source. Instead, the only control is the remote, which seems to be the norm with electronics now. Regardless, I do like the idea, and the kids love having their riding equipment lit up for all to see.Update, all three units work perfectly. The issue was a cheap battery pack that couldn't handle the current. The battery pack is listed as 3500 mah, but I doubt it's capacity is more than 2000 mah. I plugged the lights into a 10000 mah and they worked great.

This is my second purchase the LumenBasic LED Light Strips. The Initial purchase was the White light Strip. Right out of the package, I was impressed with the quality and apparent durability. I tried them on a simple power bank and the lights lasted several hours.The color changing lights are equal in quality. I do question the weatherproof aspect of the controller module. On that note the controller module does make this a little less compact.All in all, these are well made and function very well. Nice for spontaneous decoration.

I bought these for lighting my 10x10 event tent for an outdoor event and I was highly disappointed that they could not be hooked together. I bought 4 sets and found out later they were individuals and could NOT be connected. I had to send them back. They were great, very colorful and would be very useful if you want a 5ft string placed one at a time.

We took these out on our last camping trip and they worked pretty well most of the time. We had issues with the remote, trying to turn the lights on and off, but I suspect the battery. I will replace and try again. The overall quality seems to be OK- the LED housing is a soft rubbery material that spreads the illumination well, and the rubbery zip tie thingies worked like a champ. Overall, I feel pretty comfortable with the purchase, and may even order a second set.

I used these lights once, when camping, and they seemed great. I used the magnets to attach the strip to my van and I loved that I could use the remote to turn them on and off. After camping I put them back on the plastic reel that was included for storage and tucked them in the enclosed bag. I just took them out again a few weeks later and plugged them in and only half the string lights up. If I choose white light, half the lights are white, the other are pink. Bummer. Yeah they're inexpensive, but I should be able to use them more than once. And of course now the return window has closed. :(

i also had the white color one. I was worrying about quality because no review for these listings. But when i received them they are much better than the ones i had bought from other suppliers before.My son loves this color one as it comes remote so it is easier to turn on/off without needing to unplug the whole USB cable from portable battery all the time. And the power cord is very long that is definitely a plus comparing to other models selling in market. Overall 4.5 star
