A great item- but buy when the price is low!!!!
If you look at the price for one, two, or three, you can see that the pricing structure makes no sense. Currently the listing says one costs $7.47, while 3 cost $40.26. Huh? Also, the pricing listed for one varies from day to day. For example, I first ordered just one (to see the quality) and paid about $5.00. What I got was a two pack, or two filters, for my $5.00. Since I really liked the quality, I decided to order more. But when I went back to the item, the one piece price had jumped to over $17! Not a typo- SEVENTEEN dollars. I added the item to my cart while I decided to shop around.A couple of days later, Amazon notified me of a price change on an item in my cart- the filters had dropped to $5.47 for a one pack. I ordered five, not trusting the price to stay low, and two days later received five two packs (ten filters).Having said all of that, the filters themselves are great. By far my favorites. I use them on my whole house prefilter to strain my well water, and they do a great job of filtering out sediment. I greatly prefer them to the spun fiber Purex kind i used previously. So go ahead and give these a try- just watch the crazy pricing fluctuations!

Works but requires a 40 minute system flush.
This is the first time I purchased the Dupont branded string filters, after installing on I went to my nearby basement sink and opened the faucet to purge the air out of the system, along with the air came a lot soapy looking suds. I figured they were from the filter so I looked at the included instructions to see if they mentioned that you may see suds, they did not. What they did say is that once you install the filter, that you need to run the water for 40 minutes to flush the filter system. I was curious so if this was something I had missed in the many filter swaps I have done at my house. I found the instructions for 3M filter that I had in previously and they only said to flush 5 gallons though the system, that was carbon wrap filter so not apples to apples. This is something I will be checking out before buying filter from now on. It seem very wasteful to run that much water down the drain.

Very Good Value
These filters are very good for the money spent. I have a lower micron filter plumbed in after this filter.

This one is the first in line then I have a second filter with a 5 micron cartridge to get the finer sediment out
Purchased and installed a new filter system last month. Will be able to replace the cartridges next month to see the sediment that it filters out. We have suspended iron in our water and I have 2 filters to handle it. This one is the first in line then I have a second filter with a 5 micron cartridge to get the finer sediment out.
