These carabiners are sturdy and appear to be of excellent quality! I originally purchased the smaller ones (2.25"), and I had been using them outdoors with my rowboat several times per week. They held up great, but they were a bit small to manage due to arthritis in my hands, so I switched to these larger ones(2.75"). I am very pleased with these carabiners and will likely be purchasing more of these!

I purchased these for cable-attached equipment in my home gym. The 4-inch version of the hook is quite heavy and has held up to 150 pound lifts without issue. You wouldn't use it for mountaineering or anything that should use certified equipment, but for household duty it seems perfectly fine and strong.I wanted to note that one reviewer classified it as fraudulently claiming to be 304 stainless, but he proved it was not because a magnet stuck to it. I attempted the same test, using a rare earth magnet, and noticed the magnet would only stick to it in the portions where there are tight bends, or where the hinge pin is. Reading more about 304 stainless, I learned that when the 304 grade is cold worked, or tightly stretched / bent, its structure can change and martensite is formed, which is magnetic. This hook is clearly made from rod, which is then bent into shape. The fact that the magnet will only stick to the parts where it has been severely bent suggests it is 304 stainless as claimed, and the martensite formed by the bending process has left those areas slightly magnetic.If you need truly non-magnetic, then you'd need a 316 grade, or a 304 that has been deliberately processed in a way to avoid it becoming magnetic, which is possible.
