Live - Perpetual Change

Great set - 2 CDs and a DVD - highly recommended!
UPDATE:I just finished watching the 2 plus hours of the DVD, and it is amazing. The music was incredible, and the concert video was some of the best I have seen in ages. I get so tired of the stream of meaningless 1 second jump cuts that pass for video editing any more - I want to actually see the musicians playing their instruments, not get a flashing glimpse of their nose hairs and other extraneous nonsense (or cut to the drummer when the guitarist is soloing - there is so much horrendously bad video out there). Good job Richie on editing (I would like to have seen a bit more of your playing, though, seems like you didn't give yourself as much screen time).Audio editing was also very good, although at times it seems like some instruments were a bit low in the mix. For the most part the audio was great, and it is nice to see someone mix the vocals so they can actually be heard. I never did like the rock attitude that the vocal was just another sound in the mix (although, given the quality of some lyrics, I can see the point there . . . ).These are some of my favorite YES tunes, and it is great to see them played live (never got to see YES live). This is a fantastic live album, and I heartily recommend it. If you love YES and prog rock in general, I think you will like this CD/DVD set.earlier:I just got this and have not had time to listen yet, but was surprised that in addition to two CDs there is also a DVD of the live performances. Very cool, and not mentioned in the product description.I have been following Band Geeks for several years, and they are incredibly talented people. I was ecstatic when I learned they were asked by Jon Anderson to work together, and I consider what I have seen and heard so far to easily be on par with the original YES, if not even better (no mean feat).Anderson has long been a favorite of mine, and the Geeks are new favorites.I will update this review when I have had time to digest all the material. There is also talk of another album and tour next year. It is so great to see and hear this music being performed so well by the original composer and these talented musicians. I am sure Chris Squire is smiling down from heaven. Richie really does a great job on his bass lines, as do ther rest on their respective parts. I cannot convey the astonishment I felt the first time I saw them do YES material on Richie's YouTube channel. Check out their cover of the entire CloseTo The Edge album in one video. I guarantee you will be impressed. Jon Anderson was, and has said so in interviews. If you are a YES fan, get this now. If you are not, then consider becoming one. It is phenomenal music which stand the test of time.

Excellent Album ~ Get It
If you are like me you are probably wondering if you need one more double live album of songs that have been around for half a century in dozens of formats. You are probably thinking that the last half dozen or so live YES albums you’ve gotten seem uninspired and missing something. This album is what they are missing. This album sounds enough like YES that Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman will think that they played on it with Chris Squire during some long lost forgotten session.Get it:1. Jon Anderson knows how the music is supposed to sound. He was there when it was created. He helped write just about all of it. His vocals are slightly different from Jon Davison. Not far superior, but preferred by my ears. These two guys might be great together on a new YES album, but unless that happens, the original vocalist is preferred. Whether that voice holds up after 25 shows remains to be heard.2. This album brings back the BASS!! That’s something that’s been lost in the YES mix for a while.3. These young Geeks play the music at the right speed!! It’s not slowed down to put you to sleep.4. Anderson was wise to only include classic YES songs which really makes it sound like YES. The new studio album is very good, so listen to that separately.5. Anderson is a more inspired song writer right now than anyone currently performing as YES. Since it appears Anderson is finally resolved there will be no “Union II”, he seems to have put everything into this. Those who cannot forgive and regroup for the music are as foolish as CSNY and they end up like Beatles wondering what might have been.

One of the greatest voices in rock history
I grew up with the music of Yes. Jon Anderson's voice will go down in the history of music as one of the best. He is also one of the nicest people I have ever met.(Twice I met him). I had also came across The Band Geeks on YouTube and enjoyed there music and musicianship. The 2 coming together is mind blowing. The Band Geeks covers of the Yes songs on there own were great. I was not surprised that Jon took notice as well. If you are a fan of Yes,Jon are want to see musicianship at a higher level. You should check this release. Live Perpetual Change is a live masterpiece. For me it checked the box because I had to miss them playing in my town. I have seen The Band Yes more times than I can count live and this ranks very high. Jon Anderson is still at the top of his game here. You should also pick up the album True which is all original tunes by Jon and The Geeks.

Amazing quality recording of live Yes music!
A great recording of classic Yes music, with Jon Anderson in prime form at 80 years old! Most singers that age have retired or are losing their edge vocally. Not Jon! We saw him live with the Band Geeks last year and it was an amazing show! Buy this CD, you will not regret it!
