Folding Aluminum Portable Sluice Box

I recently purchased the ASR Outdoor 50" Sluice Box, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The build quality is outstanding, with durable aluminum construction that ensures it can withstand harsh conditions and frequent use. It wasn't hard to put together but it would have been nice to have instructions just to make sure I put it together right but other than that it does great. Decent size and quite strong

These cheap sluices, in my opinion, are perfect for designing custom, high value sluices for what you need for your area. Although not yet finished, this 18" wide flare and 8 foot long overall length will be getting upgraded with a highbanking mod that can also accommodate a dredge. And if needed I can attach another 40" to the flare for dirt cheap. My requirement for my area needs to be able to recover VERY fine gold AND sapphires. In all I will have about $400.00 in just the basic highbanker build which easily competes with the well known $2000.00 commercially built flare unit. Prospecting is a tool to find the gold. Mining is for profit. My design will produce profit. And as for the mat, miners moss cannot be beat, period. I've used all the Gucci mats and I'm not impressed because they are NOT forgiving at all. In fact the manufacturers of those mats state that they have to be tuned. That's because all the pay is exposed to the current in the ripples. Run too fast and you blow everything out the end. Run too slow and they clog. And even if you tune them, other materials bumps out any exposed gold which means you have to clean out often. If you shut down you aren't mining. Any gold trapped in miners moss is just that, trapped! It can't go anywhere, and a long wide sluice can be run all day without worry of losing what is trapped.

This sluice box is the perfect size for working a small stream or tributary. Anything larger would be a pain to haul around. It folds up, so can easily be carried into back country locations with the carrying strap. I will tuck it into a dry sack, though, to make sure I don't lose anything out of the mats on the way back out. High quality construction and mats. Lowest price I have seen anywhere for a box this size. Much larger than expected, even though the dimensions are listed in the product description. Very happy with this purchase.

For the price, this is a good slice. THE GOOD: Folds up nicely & can fit in a pack or gear box well. Easily assembled and can last several seasons with proper use & care. The provided miner's moss is good, as is the felt under it. The screws, wing nuts & keeper nuts might be stainless, not marked with typical 304 or 316. Marked as something illegible. It Works! I got gold! THE BAD: Shoulder strap is more of a hand strap. Too short for a shoulder. I'm probably going to ditch it. Some of the keeper nuts were not fully engaging the screws they were on. Keep an eye out. I added stainless fender washers to the section nuts to minimize damage to the aluminum. The slots for the screw posts were a bit oversized, the fender washers should manage that. I also trimmed off a little miner's moss to accommodate the larger fender washers. My biggest worry is the quality & longevity of the adhesive between the upper aluminum section and the black ribbed matt. Mine was separated upon arrival, although the adhesive was still tacky. I used some scrap lumber & bar clamps to press it together, hoping for permanent fixation (is that proper use of that word?) I would recommend this product at this price point.

Not sure how to star rate this so I am giving it 5 stars just because I don't want to five a negative review due to my ignorance. Seems to be too many layers to this product. If I were to purchase another one I would go more simple. If you are looking to purchase a sluice, please do more research than I did. I can not make any other recommendations other than research.

Not sure how product works as I can't open it due to shipping damage and not being properly boxed with some type of foam. Once I bent out the damage I guess we'll see how it works.... Seems like a solid unit folded up 😒

Taking it for a test drive this weekend. It seems pretty durable and the aluminum is pretty thick.

Exactly what comes in the image, no manual or instructions on setting up though but pretty easy to work out if you refer to the picture. Bigger screws are for the strap, funnel can be placed inside sideways before folding the other pieces in. A little jigging around in order to get a more compact fold. Wont actually fully collapse in when folded but that is apparently normal. No manual so no instructions on proper maintenance and servicing, should be brought up with KLONDIKE GOLD SUPPLIES

Box came damaged. Sleuce is slightly bent and missing a wing nut. It did arrive quickly though.
