Tasty "Fried" Chicken
I buy this product on a regular basis. I am trying to stay away from fried foods, and this product, when prepared according to the package directions, tastes even better than most fried chicken. It is also slightly cheaper than the cost at my local supermarket, so I've added this to my Subscribe & Save list on several occasions. Be careful not to overcook the chicken because the breasts can dry out rather quickly, so you need to make sure to eat the chicken while it is still hot.

Poor packaging
The product should be shipped in a box not a bag as arrived smashed. The product inside was still ok to use. This oven fry chicken is great the chicken comes out nice a juicy.

Great
Great stuff. I coat my chicken with this then put it in my air fryer, it's like eating fried chicken so good. I love it.

It's not what it used to be
I've used this coating for over two decades - used to be every month or so - but had sort of tapered off in recent years. When I was like "Oh! I ought to use this again!" I bought a box.Well, first tip off was preparation - used to be spread a couple of tablespoons of oil on a sheet pan beforecoating chicken in egg and coating mix. Place in oven, flip after 20 minutes, bake an additional 20. In attempting to appeal to more health conscious consumers it's now a spritz of vegetable cooking spray.Health wise it sounds healthier, I get that. However to change the oven fry oil ratio from liquid to a quickspray would appear to have had a negative influence on both texture and taste. Obviously they had to reformulate to some degree to make up for the lower fat, but whatever they've done it causes the crust to come out less crispy, has less adhesion and crumbles off readily when eating, and has on off-putting, chemical sort of taste. If you're someone who remembers this product fondly from years back, I'd say don't bother as you'll be sadly let down.... We've found the same with the pork chop coating. Better to buy store bought panko crumbs, season them yourself, egg & coat and bake. More affordable, too. This product isn't as good as it used to be, would not recommend purchasing it.
