Acu Hoop 5L

I love k-dramas and saw someone in one of them exercising with a hula hoop. It looked like so much fun that I did some research on line and decide to buy a couple. The one other than this was not weighted. Back to my review of this one. It came in a box in six pieces, was really easy to snap together and the quality is great. It holds together as if it was constructed in one piece. The exterior is rubber not plastic so the texture is really great. It was somewhat painful on my waist and abdomen when I started, but as I've used it more I've gotten used to it and it's not painful anymore. I blast the music in my house go outside and hoop away(not recommended if you have close neighbors). Didn't really imagine it would be as great a work out as it is, was I surprised. With the added weight it seems to me I am getting a really full workout and I have started to see a difference in my ab muscles, and it is really fun and makes me fell like a kid again when I use it. So glad I bought this!

My wife uses this for exercise. She uses it from 10 to 30 minutes at a time with periodic breaks. She originally started with a 3 lb. hoop, but asked me to buy her a heavier hoop. So she's progressed to this 5 lb. hoop. She still uses the 3 lb. hoop as warm up, but finds the 5 lb. hoop is better for a more complete workout.Assembly was fairly simple. It took a little elbow grease to get the pieces to fit together properly, but now that it's assembled, it works great.It's also a novelty for family and friends who come to visit. They take turns trying it with lots of laughs. One family member, who is very physically fit, found it to be a challenging core workout. Keeping the 5 lb. hoop in suspension for 10 minutes or more is definitely a workout.

I liked how heavy the 5lb one was since I upgraded from a 3lb hoop. It was pretty easy to assemble but the last one to close up the hoop may be little tight when trying to insert it and I have to put a little oomph into it. Please note that since this is a heavier hoop, it will cause some bruising on your sides in the beginning but that's okay for me and not a problem with the hoop itself -- just wear something other than a thin t-shirt to help cushion it. I like the ridges though. I feel like it helps grab on to my love handles to stay up - like elastic on underwear. The only downside to this is that sometimes when I'm hooping, a piece gets loose and comes apart. Maybe I'm hooping too hard/fast but I'm trying to get a workout in. Hehe. I just have to stop and put it back together. Other than that, it does the intended job.

This thing is a miracle worker. Combined with diet and running I have already noticed improvements. I had used one before, thanks to a friend and immediately felt it working my stomach muscles. I would recommend practicing hoola-hooping with a regular hoola-hoop first though to get a feel of where it supposed to work your muscles. The best method is to try moving as little as possible, only moving the hips and clenching your abs. Kinda like belly dancers. This will reduce bruising and unneeded pain to a minimum. Like all exercise techniques its best to have fun with it, but no pain no gain, or loss rather, haha! When used correctly this hoop will be your best friend. In a month I have lost an inch, and I haven't even used it everyday. If your sides start hurting, please stop and try again, only your abs should be able to feel the burn. Music of course also helps to get your mind off the 10 min sessions. Good luck to all who purchase this item and stay safe.

This is not for beginners. The hoop is weighted and if you’re not able to hoola hoop you can hurt yourself especially your breast with this because of the challenge of keep it in rotation around your waist. I had to return it but one day I’ll buy it again once I’m in shape😩

super easy to assemble! have enjoyed getting into the routine of using this!

The foam on one of the pieces came damaged (had a cut on it). Some of the pieces looked dirty, covered in something dusty when the box was opened.The hula hoop is inconvenient to disassemble (you have to go under the cheap foam and pray it doesn't rip and push the buttons to release, you have to push really deep and it hurts)I have not tried using the hoop because instructions it comes with state that you cannot return used items. But based on my dissatisfaction with the quality of a 50$ item I am going to return it.

Do not try this barefoot! that was my first mistake and when it fell off me, it hurt my ankles so bad that I was like screaming and pain and had trouble walking for the rest of the day and a swollen ankle. I am having a really hard time using this. I could only keep it up for about three seconds. Will keep trying or return.
