Smooth and fluid writing. Nice flowing ink that dries fairly quickly. My favorite size is the 1mm for most work. Not as exact as the smaller sizes, but nice and rich looking. Does tend to smear a little more if you don't let it sit for an extra couple seconds as compared to the smaller tip sizes.

I like this bold red pen. As a teacher I need a red pen with bold color and a big medium line. This is a good pen. It takes a little while for the ink to dry but it’s smooth and bold. If you want a bold red pen this is it!

I have these pens in red, blue and black and I LOVE them! They aren't a real thick point, but it's thick enough that it really shows up on documents. Highly recommend them...in any color!!

I like these gel pens but the colors are not permanent but the good thing about that is, the ink will wash out of clothing. Black is slightly more permanent, however. They take a little bit of use when new for the ink to start flowing good. I would store them point down. In a hot car they will leak ink from the ballpoint.

I really like the pilot gel pens. They write smoothly and they last a long time. I wish other pen producers werebas interested in customer satisfaction as pilot!

I chose my pens in the 1.0mm bold size because of the need to be read in low-light conditions. For this purpose thick writing is a must, and these perform wonderful for that application. I write easily one hundred paragraphs worth of text on a daily basis when I am at work in both red and black, frequently switching between the two, and so a pen of utmost comfort is a necessity. You simply cannot afford to get anything but top shelf, and these are what I consider to be top shelf. Ergonomic design that doesn't cramp your hand or take off your finger skin, doesn't slip even when your grip grows weak from all the hours of writing, never once skipping or producing faint strokes, and a simple click open/close design that keeps any caps from being lost and the ball from drying out. The fact that these are refillable is a major selling point to me. I can carry cartridge refills instead of a stack of 12 pens, both cutting cost on what I have to buy and reducing my garbage production since I only have to throw away the empty tubes instead of the entire pen and it's housing.
