The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using this Santoku knife daily for about a week now, and it’s exceeded expectations. The blade is incredibly sharp and glides easily through vegetables and meats. I also appreciate the wider blade—it gives me more control and makes transferring ingredients to the pan much easier. The handle feels solid and well-balanced in my hand. On top of that, it came in a beautiful premium gift box, which made the unboxing experience feel special. Great value for the quality.

Hubby loves this knife, he is the knife person in the family. Very sharp, slices, dices and cuts quickly and well. The only thing missing is a sheath for the knife. Tried ordering one that claimed to fit the knife, however was not wide enough to contain the blade. Made a DIY sheath so knife can be in the knife drawer with the rest of the collection and not risk cutting anyone who reaches in.

….in fact, given the construction quality, I would rate this as a bit of a bargain.It was sharp right out of the box, but needed only a few extra moments to make it scary sharp. So why downgrade it to Four Stars? Because the seller completely failed to mention anywhere that this is made from pretty decent steel, 1.4116 to be exact.No, it isn’t a “super steel”, nor it is terribly expensive (obviously, given the price). What it is, is a good middle of the road, quality steel that is easily cared for and sharpened. But I had to take a chance and order it to discover that, when it should have been boldly proclaimed in the advertising blurb.Odd way of marketing a great product, but hiding the material is a boneheaded marketing mistake.

I liked the shape better than a cleaver and it looked safer. It is also not large but not small. This is perfect for most vegetable. The weight is balanced great and it looks like it will hold a nice sharp edge a while. Worth more than I paid. Also: this is German Steel. Build quality:Contoured handle
