The only dishwasher tablets I use!
I basically use nothing but Branch Basics products (even as laundry detergent) and the quality is always exceptional. I love that there is virtually no scent to these, and that it’s one of the most environmentally-friendly products you can use, but none of that would matter if the products didn’t work. I am happy to report that not only do they work flawlessly, but they get my dishes cleaner, and result in far less residue than traditional dishwasher tablets. While a a tad pricier, I feel they are excellent value considering how well they work!

Fragrance free, and so much better than I'd hoped! Clean better than Finish Quantum.
TL;DR: I am ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED to report that after using the Branch Basics dishwasher tablets for a couple months, I have had ZERO issues with my dishwasher, my dishes are actually cleaner than they were before, and they don't reek of perfume. The tabs are easy to use and don't fall apart. This stuff is EVERYTHING. Some background: A few years ago, I switched from the Finish Quantum pods to the Cascade pods by accident--hubby grabbed the wrong one at Costco. Slowly, my washing machine started having issues, and after several months, there was a very strange-looking "spaghetti monster" growing out of the bottom filter, the racks weren't rolling properly, and all the plastic parts in the dishwasher had turned from blue to a frosty white. I watched a bunch of videos and gave everything a thorough cleaning, but I was still having issues, and I started to think that maybe I needed a new machine. Not long after I started researching new machines, I remembered that we had started using a new detergent not long before the problems started. We went back to the Finish, and within a couple weeks, the problems had completely resolved. So, fast forward to now, it was with great trepidation that I considered switching to a new dishwasher detergent. I couldn't keep going with the Finish--it was like an abusive relationship where my basic needs were being met, but I felt like a well-perfumed pile of garbage all the time. So, I did what anyone would do, and started hunting for a solution while I still had a couple weeks' worth of pods left, in case things went south fast in my new relationship. Based on the reviews I read, I settled on Branch Basics as my first foray into the unscented detergents. I honestly don't know how it compares price-wise to the Finish pods from Costco, and I don't really care. I was at a point where I'd pay almost anything for a fragrance-free detergent that got my dishes clean without wrecking my dishwasher. Now, why did I even want to stop using Finish in the first place? First off, I'm allergic to many fragrances, and when I would open the dishwasher after a cycle, my nose and face would start to itch as I emptied it. I was have itching fits all the time that would continue until I took an allergy pill, and my dishwashing detergent was one of the final frontiers of my life that I hadn't removed fragrance from. Plus, I just didn't like the smell, and it was SO strong. To add insult to injury, the Finish would make my dishes and utensils taste like perfume, especially the silicone ones. (Why do they have to do this? Every year, the perfume smell in our products gets stronger, not just in dishwashing detergent, but in practically every product we use. People, it needs to stop. I want to smell the air again!) Of course, it doesn't matter what your dishwashing detergent smells like, if it ruins your dishwasher or god forbid your pipes, or if it doesn't get your dishes clean. What I really wasn't expecting is that my dishes would be MORE CLEAN, but there you have it--they are actually cleaner. All this time, I'd just assumed that when my dishes didn't get clean, that it was my fault somehow. There's just two people in my household, but we have three indoor cats and feed the outside cats as well, and for some reason some of those dishes would still come out dirty with the Finish detergent. But that doesn't happen anymore with the Branch Basics. I don't know what wizardry is in these tablets, but they work even better than I thought I needed them to. When I first started using the tabs, and I had an especially packed load, I would throw an extra tab in the bottom of the dishwasher to work in the prewash, but I don't do that anymore. I just had this notion that because this detergent was supposed to be healthier for humans, that it wouldn't work as well, but I've been disabused of that notion at this point. Another thing I like is that the little tab fits neatly into the detergent dispenser, and so far, the dispenser lid has yet to stick to it and fail to open. When I used the Finish pods, I had to take a beat to position them carefully in the dispenser because they're so large, and every couple weeks I'd have to rewash a load, because the lid stuck to the pod and failed to open. Also, the pods' plastic wrapper would stick to my fingers, especially if my hands were wet, and then my fingers would smell like detergent for the rest of the day. I was concerned that the Branch Basics tablets might be fragile and break down, especially since I have to have them shipped, but so far everything's been great in that department as well. And finally, plastic--there is none, except for the bag that keeps them dry. Yay! It wasn't high on my list of wants, because honestly I would have settled for a detergent that was made entirely of plastic, if it was the only one I could find that didn't have fragrance. But this is just a tab of pressed powder detergent. I don't know what holds it together, but as far as I can tell, there's no plastic, so I now have the added bonus of no longer flushing microplastics into the ground water with every load of dishes. I'm thrilled with how these are working out. I make a point of updating my reviews if things change, so you'll hear from me again if they do. In the meantime, I wanted to get my thoughts down, because I'm just so impressed with these, and I think you will be too!

Shiny and Clean Dishes!
These are the first non-toxic dishwasher tablets that have actually worked for me. I’ve tried MANY other brands and most either don’t clean, or leave a film. These dissolve easily and work great! My dishes are shiny and clean.
