A humble kettle with few features but even fewer headaches.
I bought this kettle to heat water between the amounts of 100ml and 300ml. I also have a large 1.7L kettle that uses 1200W. This one uses about 950W. Despite being slightly weaker, it actually boils 100ml a bit faster than the larger kettle. Not only that, it boils this small amount to a higher temperature of about 211 degrees. The larger kettle can only get it up to 200 degrees. Although I can explain exactly why this is so, due to my engineering background, I don't think that's necessary for this review. Just take my words for it: the smaller kettle can achieve higher water temperatures for small volumes of water. The larger the volume, the more equal they become.Anyway, I've used this kettle for at least a couple months now, and so far it's very reliable. There's an opening within the steel inner wall that directs steam into the inner space between the steel and plastic housing. This steam triggers the mechanism in the base of the kettle, to cut off power, to prevent accidental damage caused by users leaving their kettle unattended. I personally have no use for this function, as I intend to use this kettle right next to me at all times. Thus, I used some aluminum foil and tape to seal up that hole. I don't want water vapor causing any of the inner components to rust. It works. The lid sits securely (doesn't fall out when pouring), but is not hard to remove. If I have to nitpick, I would say that the kettle attaches to the base element a little bit too snugly. When trying to remove the kettle from the base, I have to give it a little shake for the base to fall away. Of course I could use two hands, but I have the base sitting on the floor, so I don't want to bend over too much to use both hands. This is really minor.I use this to brew tea and coffee. I have a separate thermometer that I use in combination with this kettle. I find this modular approach much more reliable than those fancy kettles with internal thermometers. They use complex circuitry that throttle the power output as the temperature approach your desired/programmed temperature. This improves efficiency and helps to have the water be precisely at your desired temperature. However, it also significantly slows down the heating process, and for me it's not necessary, as I use my own method that works just as well. The higher the complexity of a unit, the less reliable it becomes, regardless of whether you paid $30 for it, or $100. A lot of those fancier kettles with many features are very expensive, and will likely fail before this humble kettle will. For an item of this price, I would consider this kettle a very high value item. It works great and has lasted thus far. I personally always update my Amazon reviews, so until something comes up this kettle gets 5 stars.

BEST LITTLE TRAVEL KETTLE EVER
I love it! For years I’ve been looking for a good portable kettle with a nontoxic stainless steel interior and now I’ve finally found it and I absolutely LOVE it! Plus, it works super fast. It’s boiling hot in about 3 minutes! I got it for trips since it’s small and easily portable but now I just use it every day at home instead of my big kettle… because I love it!Just a quick WARNING: Make sure the top cover is snug in place and DO NOT go over the maximum water line which is clearly marked inside… if you do add extra water, then it will spill over when the water starts to boil.Just one more thing… the automatic shut off works great and… did I mention that I love LOVE love it?!?

Perfect for suitcase travel
Works really well. I’ve had this little travel kettle since 2021. I pack it in my suitcase where ever I go. The plug/cord are very heavy duty. The inside is a nice stainless steel. I haven’t had any rusting issues so it’s obviously a good quality. It’s easy to clean/dry out when you’re done with it and ready to pack it up. I keep it packed in its original box for travel but the box is falling apart. I wish they had a little travel pouch to keep it in, but the box is minimal space and I’ll just keep taping it. It fits nicely into my suitcase. I definitely recommend this.

I would buy it again.
I bought this for a vacation because I needed somewhere to boil water for my baby’s bottles, that I knew was clean. This heats up super quick, is travel friendly, and super easy to use. It is really easy to clean, just wipe dry. My only complaint is that it has 2 small rust spots one on the lid under the rubber gasket that gets bigger with use, I just wipe it off after every use because if I don’t it tends to grow. The other small rust spot is near the top lip of the unit, I don’t think I would mind if it was for me but since its for my baby, I noticed. The price is a little high in my opinion, but the product is good quality and the size is so convenient that I thought it was worth it. We even used it to heat up water for morning oatmeal and coffee and some noodle cups too. It has a black drawstring satchel where you can keep the unit and the base together for storage or travel. 4 stars, I took one off for the small rust stains and the price.

Perfect Size for One
What a great little pot. I still have a working Sunbeam Hotshot that has been on my counter for years, but this finally is going to take its place , because it is much more versatile (and a lot cuter). This is perfect for a single person. Just pour in the amount of water that your favorite cup holds & it comes to a rolling boil very quickly. It turns itself off with a resounding click & the light goes off. The lid is very easy to remove & replace. The pitcher lifts easily off the base. Easy to clean. I love it.

Disappointing Experience with the Travel Kettle from Amazon
I recently purchased this travel kettle from Amazon with high hopes of bringing a piece of home comfort with me on my travels to SLC. As someone who avoids using hotel coffee makers due to hygiene concerns, the idea of having my own portable kettle was appealing. Unfortunately, this kettle was a letdown from the start.Upon unboxing, I was greeted with an overwhelming smell of cheap plastic, which was the primary material of the kettle. Not only did it give off an unpleasant odor, but it also raised concerns about its safety, appearing as if it could be a fire hazard with its flimsy construction. The poor quality was evident, and it certainly didn’t feel like it was worth the money spent.I had hoped for a reliable travel companion, but instead, I’m left with regret for not choosing a different kettle. Shopping on Amazon has become a challenge; it seems to be flooded with low-quality, plastic products from China. I long for more diversity in manufacturing options, to find kitchen appliances that aren’t produced under questionable conditions. I think it’s time for me to move away from disposable plastic junk and invest in quality, ethically made goods, not goods made in Chinese labor camps.
