Q: can this be used for outdoor?

This is not waterproof, if it needs to be waterproof, it needs to be installed in a waterproof box

Q: What box will this switch mount in?

Any box big enough to hold it. I used a 30amp rv plug box. I just removed the plug and used self tapping screws to mount the switch where the plug was.
