Autism benefits for kids and teens supported by clinical study. Mitochondria & neuro support
I am taking this, as this has exceptionally clean, natural and high-quality ingredients and targets brain and overall health, which is what I want. But I didn't read through and research this thoroughly until after I started taking it (I know, I did it backwards). Although this can probably benefit just about all kids and adults, this was designed specifically to benefit kids and teens with autism. If you are a parent of a child with autism, I especially encourage you to read this, and the full product description, and look up the clinical study on Google - more on that below. As a side note: although the study was with children and teens with autism, it makes sense to me based on how this works that adults and children with and without autism would experience many benefits from this too.As a side note for all: I've only been taking it for just over a week and will say that it is a balanced multivitamin with great things like L-carnitine, CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid, etc. that are missing from many multi-vitamins, that I usually have to take separately, so the convenience is great. It is easy to take, well-tolerated, and tastes great. I ordered the lemon flavor, but it is not overly lemony, it actually is orange in color and has a slight orange taste to it, it kind of reminds me of Tang. It tastes sweet (sweetened by natural monk fruit) with a slight tartness (citric acid). It disintegrates easily in just water, and I think it tastes really good just with water. But if you have kids who still might not like the flavor, I would add this to orange juice, I think the taste will blend right in. I personally would find that too sweet and would water down the orange juice, but whatever works! It is exceptionally clean for those who have allergies or might have food sensitivities - it's free from any nuts, milk, gluten, or shellfish. I throw it in my morning smoothie, and it has been a great addition, it makes taking your vitamins so easy. It's impressive that it contains 33 active ingredients - and no allergens, and nothing harmful/synthetic (so many supplements have things that can cause problems) - designed to:* Enhance Methylation* Provide antioxidant support* Remove metabolites* Promote mitochondrial metabolism* Facilitate selected neurotransmissionWe have all probably heard about the importance of antioxidants for years. And I'm not a doctor, but I do know a little bit about why improving mitochondrial health is so important for everyone. Just learning about methylation. But it's especially exciting that they have clinically shown that improving these specific things nutritionally has been shown clinically to benefit kids and teens with autism.ASD benefits: supported by clinical study conducted with kids and teens with autism:- This is pulled from the product description, but I think the very impressive medical credentials of the physician who designed this are important and lead me to think that this is a highly trustworthy and effective supplement: "SpectrumNeeds was designed by Dr. Boles, a Medical Geneticist with expertise in mitochondrial and other metabolic disorders. He completed medical school at UCLA, followed by a pediatric residency at Harbor-UCLA and a genetics fellowship at Yale. He is board-certified in Pediatrics, Clinical Genetics, and Clinical Biochemical Genetics."- Towards the bottom of the product description you'll see where it talks about the clinical study done with SpectrumNeeds. If you google the study: “A Mitochondrial Supplement Improves Function and Mitochondrial Activity,” published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences by Dr. Richard Frye et al. - it will lead to the PubMed summaries (found links to a short and long version) of the clinical study that was done with autistic kids and teens using this product specifically. I don't have a child with autism, but the significant social interaction improvements really stood out to me, so I wanted to highlight this for those who have loved ones with autism. It's recommended that one serving be taken twice a day and the package has clear dosage directions by weight. For example, at the smallest end, a child who weighs 22-33 lbs (10-15 kg) should take "1 heaping scoop (2.2 grams)" is a suggested 2 ounces (1/4 cup) of liquid, twice a day.The high end is 132 lbs and over (60+ kg) - 3 heaping scoops (6.6 grams) in 6 ounces of liquid, twice daily. So no guesswork, which is good. And the study used the recommended amounts per the child's weight.Taken 2x a day:For kids up to 33 lbs, this is a 2-month supply. For kids 44-88 lbs, this is a 1-month supply. For adults and kids 132+ lbs, this is about a 23-day supply.Even though I received this product at no charge, I always give honest reviews. And I try to take a lot of extra time on reviews of products that I think can really benefit people and improve the quality of their lives in some way. This is definitely one of those times. The value of this supplement in my opinion is probably highest for people/children with autism and their families, especially if it can provide similar health/quality of life improvements that were noted in the study. "Nutritional support to optimize brain function" is the tagline on the container and that to me is the main point of this. Having said that, these ingredients are important for physical health as well for everyone. And really, the two are very related. Is this cheap, especially at the adult dosages? No. But is something cheap that doesn't work a good value? Definitely not. And this does replace a multivitamin and add a lot of high-quality ingredients - at the right amounts - not found in other multivitamins. And sourcing all of that from clean allergen-free high-quality sources must be expensive. For parents of kids with autism, if this actually can help their kids and improve their quality of life, I think this would be priceless. I think if they can at all afford it, at least trying this for a month or two would be a no-brainer. This having been designed by a highly credentialed and certified specialist physician and having a quality clinical study to back it up would make me more confident that it will provide benefits to those taking it. Even for people without autism who want similar improvements. It is my hope that as more people buy this, the company will be able to scale their sourcing and production, and the cost will go down to help those who can't afford it and make this more widely available.A suggestion for Dr. Boles - maybe a simple explainer video to help people more easily understand the clinical study, why this works, and the potential benefits to them.Highly recommend! All the best to you and your families!

Surprising Benefits, But the Taste Needs Work
I’ve been trying out SpectrumNeeds with the Lemon flavor for a little over a week now, and I wanted to share my honest experience. As someone interested in brain and overall health, I was drawn to this supplement because of its super clean ingredient list and the fact that it packs in nutrients you don’t often see together—like L-carnitine, CoQ10, and alpha lipoic acid. What really stood out to me is that this formula was developed with the needs of kids and teens with autism in mind. While I don’t have autism myself, I appreciate that the ingredients are aimed at supporting mitochondrial health, methylation, and neurotransmission—all things that are important for anyone’s well-being.Mixing the powder into water is easy enough, but I have to be upfront about the taste: it’s not great. The lemon flavor is pretty mild, and honestly, it mostly just tastes like you’ve dissolved a vitamin B tablet in water. It’s got that classic “vitamin” aftertaste that’s tough to mask. I tried adding it to a smoothie, which helped a bit, but if you’re sensitive to bad flavors you might need to get creative. One thing I really like is how allergen-friendly this product is—no nuts, no milk, gluten-free, etc.—so almost anyone can try it without worrying about reactions. The dosing instructions are clear and based on weight, which made it simple to figure out how much I needed.Even though the flavor isn’t good, I’m willing to put up with it because I feel like I’m getting a lot of nutrients I’d otherwise have to take separately. I haven’t noticed any negative side effects, and it’s gentle on my stomach.Overall, SpectrumNeeds seems like a thoughtfully designed supplement, especially for families dealing with autism—but anyone looking for a comprehensive multivitamin could benefit. Just be prepared for that vitamin-y taste!

Tasty & Works Great!
I love that this powder supplement makes it easy to get so many health benefits in 1 quick shake in the morning each day. I add 2 scoops of powder to my shaker bottle and add about 20 - 22 oz of water. Even after I shake it up really well, the drink can be a little clumpy with a layer of foam on the top, but it tastes fine and the texture doesn't bother me. The powder blends best in a smoothie or it tastes pretty good in a glass of iced tea. It has a mildly sweet berry flavor to it that pairs well with other fruity flavors or the flavor of tea. I typically just have it in plain water, however, as that is quick and easy for me. It is a quick, easy way to get up and going in the morning and I feel like it helps give me a boost to start my day off right!I love that this powder is loaded with super foods and other healthy nutrients, but it is a little pricey for me to afford every month. Each shake costs about $1.65 so you definitely have to check your budget before you commit to this collagen powder. I do appreciate that the jar is a 60-day supply. I like the taste and I feel that it is providing good health benefits, but I think I will cut back to 1 scoop to make it last 4 months when I repurchase to make it a bit more affordable.

Supplement for those on the spectrum.
This supplement from NeuroNeeds is a fantastic option for individuals on the autism spectrum and can be used for both children and adults, though it seems primarily designed with children in mind. It provides comprehensive nutritional support with 33 essential ingredients like zinc, selenium, magnesium, B-complex vitamins, L-carnitine, and CoQ10. Formulated by Dr. Boles, a medical geneticist, it’s thoughtfully developed to support energy metabolism and overall well-being. The powder form makes it easy to mix into drinks, which is especially helpful for children. I’ve seen noticeable benefits and would recommend it to others looking for targeted nutritional support. A bit pricey for what you’re getting.
