I am happy so far—although there were a few lenses with scuffs, and one with a deep scratch. As someone else mentioned, you will have to clean all of the lenses before use, as there seems to be a small amount of machine oil smell and coating on the lenses. It took about an hour to clean up. All is good now.I do not have a lensometer, so I cannot attest to the accuracy of the lens, but I will find out when my online glasses arrive.I am excited about this since I can verify or augment my prescription for many different working or playing situations.If you are a beginner like me, there are plenty of online videos—the review failed review last time since I posted a link, so I won’t do it. Except to say, there is a guy that is doing prescriptions in Africa and making several videos on every step on the how and what. Find it and learn.

This trial lens set has already paid for itself. I took my original prescription from three years ago and loaded up the corresponding lenses into the lens frame and then did some minor modifications for my distance and close-up and got considerable improvement. Then went on the Internet and entered my new prescription and got bifocals at quite a discount compared to what you would receive going to a optician.I am not saying that this set is for everybody. But if you are technically inclined and can accurately interpret a previous prescription, it is fairly easy to do. Of course everyone is different. I took a chance and bought this set. It turned out to be a very good investment. I've never been a big fan of phoroptors. Every eye exam I have had with those machines has been for the most part a very hurried experience. With this lens set, you can take your sweet time, experiment with the different lenses and feel really satisfied with the result.I am impressed with the variety of different powers of lenses as well as the astigmatic lenses. The lens frame itself could be a little bit more sturdy, but I found it adequate. You can load up as many as three lenses for each eye if you wish and also have the ability to rotate to get your degrees for your astigmatic lenses.Of course this does not replace medical eye exams that check for such things as cataract, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. But it certainly does give you a a lot more control when it comes to getting new bifocals.

The quality of the lens are good. The trial frame is a joke, so get a separate, good one. The lens do need cleaning, and a few had a couple of dings, but for the most part, the set is whole.Takes a bit of effort to learn how to use a trial lens set, but once you do, it's a good way to double-check a prescription.

Product arrived with no damage in immaculate condition. Slight machine oil smell as to be expected.I ordered this after 4 separate eye doctors tested me in under 2 min. Each time I explained that the images were not at all clear with severe ghosting and that I have an astigmatism and to please check again. They told me to get my new glasses and come back next year. 5 years of distorted images and headaches to realize the optometrists were simply lazy and never even did the basics of optometry. I solved my astigmatism problem in a couple YouTube videos and an hour with this product, finally resolving 5 years of frustration.If you are in a similar boat as me this product is amazing at this price.

The lenses are great, and they come in impressive variety.There are major problems with the frame, particularly when correcting for astigmatism- The frame holds lenses outside of the symmetry of the rims (i.e., the center of the lens is not the same as the center of the rims). This means that it is very difficult to get an accurate axis reading if you are trying to correct for astigmatism (CYL)- The frame has 1 fixed pupillary distance, instead of making it adjustable, which will impact the prescription unless you happen to have a symmetrical PD of exactly 64.- The frame holds lenses on a slight tilt with respect to the frame itself, which seems like it would impact the quality of the prescription- The arms that hold the lenses in to the frame are badly sized, so lenses are loose and can fall out

Great product! It solved two problems: one, the optometrist overseas had the correct prescription but the person who made the right lens used the wrong values. And two, the optometrist in the US totally messed up the prescription on both eyes: I didn't have glasses made. Now I have a baseline when going into the next optometrist. The trial frames were expectantly bad as previous reviews had mentioned, but good enough until the ordered trial frames arrived.

I did a lot of research in buying this kit. The price is good, the quality is good, and the customer service is good. I emailed several questions to their website and received prompt answers. They demonstrated honesty to me.The lenses are as pictured, made of glass, well marked, and the cylinder lenses are scribed on the edge of the glass to indicate correct axis measurement. So far, every lens I have tried has been very good quality glass, clear, and without distortion. I could not have asked for a better set.The included trial frame is an inexpensive one without PD adjustment, but it does have the knobs to rotate the trial lenses for astigmatism correction and it does have the angular scale to read the axis angle using the scribe marks on the cylinder lenses. I am very satisfied.

I ran random lenses through focimeter and the power looks accurate, including cylinders and prisms. The frame is a joke of course and you must buy new one. If you are going to play optometrist at home )) - must have. Easy to build your own prescription if you order your glasses online and want to have diferent sets for computer work, outdoor, etc. Optometrists are usually not so patient and always in rush... with some effort and learning you will be able to build your own glasses with ideal astigmatis correction...
