Awesome professional wireless system!
My old Sennheiser system finally had its antenna fall off, I needed a new wireless system and I wanted a dual system. I watched some videos about the Saramonic Ultra, and thought I’d give it a try. I especially liked that it included lavaliers, it has 32 bit float and time code, plus the price was great. I figured if I didn’t like it or the sound, I would return it and get the DJI mic 2 which I have used a borrowed and rented one many times in the past few months. The Pros:I got to record three interviews already and I have to say I’m blown away by the sound quality, ease of use, and the value of the system. The sound of peoples’ voices on this are much fuller and more realistic sounding then my recordings with the DJI. With a wider frequency response and much more dynamics. I know how to edit and mix audio and I’d rather have the full frequency recording than the overly compressed and EQ’d sound, so I appreciate the Ultra’s full range sound. The sound was fantastic both into my camera and recorded in 32 bit float on the transmitters. I have yet to use the time code since I need to figure that out on my camera first.I was also really impressed with the range I got both with and without the removable antenna. I never got a cut out even when my subjects left the room, and I had to remind them to mute the transmitters before they went to the bathroom. Because I don’t need to record that! I got a ton of clean gain and was able to hide the lavaliers on my subjects and still get a great sound.I’m not quite sure when I’ll use the IPX5 water resistance, but I am glad it’s there just in case I start filming in some dicey situations.I usually film on my camera, but I like the fact that I can use it with my phone and computer too. I’m going use the system during Christmas to capture the sounds of opening presents with the kids, I can’t wait! The Cons. The lavaliers are larger than I’d like, but they are OK and sound pretty great. Plus, at least they come with the system, and I don’t have to buy them! I might upgrade soonI also was not a big fan of the noise cancelling, but that is not a feature for people who know what they are doing anyway. ;-DOverall, I think this is a really awesome system for the price. It gives me some pretty pro results, and I haven’t even scratched the surface of what it can do.It’s pretty stunning how much you get now in these tiny wireless systems, especially coming from not so long ago when you had to buy 2x pro systems that together cost as much as a used car to even come close to pro sound.Get one for yourself!

Worth every penny and then some
The media could not be loaded. Saramonic has outdone themselves. Honestly, I wasn't expecting a 32-bit system from them any time soon but here we are and it's fantastic.First off, value for money is nuts. All the lavs, cables, adapters, and even an antenna for range extension are included. Plus you get that 32-bit recording feature with timecode - TIMECODE! If you would have told me I could get 32-bit and timecode in a tiny system just a few years ago I would have expected it to cost triple what this goes for. And if you don't like the included lavs, you can always upgrade.Recording 32-bit is extremely easy - just the push of a physical button on the mic pack. Plug it into your PC via USB and it mounts like a normal drive. Perfect, no nonsense. The sound quality is fantastic once you get the hang of the 32-bit. I initially had some issues with the noise floor when normalizing the levels but it was just a post production thing I had to figure so just be aware. Bonus: You can use this to record 32-bit from your boom mic. When you're a solo creator it can be difficult to dial in levels to keep from peaking, but with 32-bit you don't have to worry about it with all that latitude.Noise cancelation is pretty good. I've only been using it indoors in a closed setting but sometimes I need to filter out an air conditioner or what have you.I've not tested the full 250 (without antenna) to 300 (with) meter range since I generally shoot indoors but 100 meters plus is aways good to see. That also means that if you're not line of sight there should be enough signal to cut through your typical drywall. One thing I really appreciated was how solid the connections were with the phone connector and the antenna. It's the worst when you buy something with terrible tolerances and feels like an after though. The phone adapter even works with my case on which is a huge plus.Size wise, I couldn't have asked for anything better. So compact and easy to pack. With some of Saramonic's older mics, I would ditch the charging case because I needed to conserve space in my camera bag. But these are so small now I just throw the whole thing in there. One really nice touch was including magnets for the back of the mic packs. If you choose to use the built in mics instead of the lavs, sometimes finding a place to clip it on could be problematic. Now you can put the magnet inside the fabric and put it wherever you want. The menu system took a minute to get use to but certainly not a deal breaker. There's only so much room for screen gestures and physical buttons when your making something so compact. There are a lot more features that I'm forgetting about but for creators and small productions I would highly recommend this.

The Ultimate Wireless Mic System For Videographers!
The media could not be loaded. As a videographer, specifically one that shoots weddings, Im always looking for the best audio solutions and the Saramonic Ultra has checked off everything on the list!Pros:- 32bit Float Internal Recording- Long range w/ extension antenna- Charging case- Timecode Sync- App Controllable- Camera, Mobile, PC and Action Cam compatibilityCons:- Only wish it was natively compatible with Sony Mi Shoe but there is an adapter!Glad to have picked this up for my upcoming events. I was extremely surprised with the audio quality out of the box as I accidentally exported some videos without any audio correction. It sounded that good! The range so far has been excellent. No cutouts, no interference. The build quality seems really good. The case and the devices have a textured surface so its easy to grip. Comes with all of the accessories you need to get started.I love that I can use this one system to record audio on my camera, my action camera, my phone and even my laptop! Before I was needed different mics or workarounds and now I have an all in one that has great quality audio! The app companion is pretty neat as you can change settings and even record your audio straight to the phone and easily download to your PC via link. They look great and professional and for those wedding moments, you can attached the included lav mics to hide them a bit better. Its definitely a game changer with the 32bit Float and Timecode sync features alone if youre using for professional videography!
