The first seven books in the series presented with beautiful art!
Monogatari is a book series I've always wanted to check out and was happy to find the first seven books bundled up in a box set. The cover art is breathtaking and I loved the art on the box itself. The books themselves are a delight to read and I can see why they're so popular. Looking forward to reading the next set!

Great little box
The item is great and cannot wait to dig my teeth into the novels, looks good with the rest of my light novels and manga. Just a shame the corner of the box is damaged due tonpoor packaging, has clearly been dropped.

Nigh impossible to get the books back in the box
The box art and series is great, but whoever designed the box dimensions really should be given the sack. I have tried repeatedly, and it is impossible to get the books altogether back into the box.

Not perfect but a great read
I was gifted this after watching season 1 and 2 from the anime and, even though I do not like translations, I did enjoy this story very much.In a way, reading complements the anime experience; I did not get the sense of being lost as I did when watching and perhaps this translation did simplify the original work, but I can't tell.Something I need to point out is that, I believe they changed the translator between books - although I need to confirm this; I read so much, some times I get confused - and there was some consistency issues. I mean, this sucks. Reading a translation is already painful, but at least keep the same guy. If you can't, at least get the new guy to read the old work and keep consistent. But I suppose translating is hard, and if you are serious about reading, you need to learn the language. That being said, this book is great for those, like me, that have already plenty to do and just want to read something as readable as harry potter, but IMHO more enthralling. At some points it does feel kinda dorky, possibly because the translation is way too readable, so you kinda maybe feel like reading Twilight, so yeah, dunno.I know most things I wrote kinda sound negative, but the story is a lot of fun, and I had a pretty good time reading it; almost couldn't put it down and finished it in like 6 weeks. In a way, reading this is complimentary to watching the anime and this is nice. It is best if you know a bit of japanese to kind of get the story of hachikuji's name; maybe it would be helpful to show the kanji, because tsubasa hanekawa does not make you think of unpaired wings as 翼羽川 does;I guess I wished there were more side by side translations (like I once saw for Russian-French versions of books), so you could compare; but then again, if they were just a bit too pricey even I wouldn't get them. So yeah, hope this helped you; great collection 8/10 would recommend, still a great read
