10 lbs of Brown Basmati Rice for less than the price of an Indian meal; how awesome is that!But use a rice cooker; cooking basmati is different than regular gluey white rice, and unless you're a more-than-average cook, let the rice cooker do it's thing and instead concentrate on the chicken, beef, fish, asparagus, red pepper slices, etc, you're going to mix into it.This rice will turn an average meal into a very nice one - try it and see for yourself!

Long Grain Brown Rice. Was delivered as advertised. I needed a healthier version of a favorite food. This fits the bill. Wife loves the unique zipper closed bag (she likes the rice too).

A quick web search reveals some common sense: "Rice in securely sealed containers keeps out unwanted moisture and eliminates the risk of infestation. Once opened, rice should be stored in a tightly closed container that keeps out dust, moisture and other contaminants." Someone should tell this to Royal rice, who ship their rice in thin plastic bags that are not only improperly sealed, but they have 18 holes in each bag. I purchased two bags, and marked the holes with toothpicks, as can be seen in my photo. Each side of each bag has nine holes in the exact same locations, which means this is done during the packing process. There is no wonder why some people receive their rice with bug infestations. Other brands of basmati rice that I have purchased, like Taj, come in properly sealed, heavy duty bags. Selling unsealed rice like this has to affect the quality and shelf life of the rice, so I don't know if I can trust the Best Buy date. If you purchase this rice, make sure to inspect it carefully, transfer it immediately to an airtight container, rinse it thoroughly before cooking, and finish the bag in a timely fashion.
