While latched close, it is water resistant to some degree, but I don’t recommend leaving it submerged at all if it can be avoided. The lighter is storm proof, meaning even if the diodes are wet, and even in extreme winds, it will still arc the plasma. I do not recommend allowing it to submerge or to be exposed to rain for too long with the cover off.
