Product works great. Just a bit stiff out of the box. But once it is unrolled and strighted out it adds a lot more security to my ladder.

I used this on a wood floor to keep the ladder from sliding when propped against the wall and it worked as described - no slippage and worked with a tall ladder that had a wide base, just fitting inside the edges of the mat. True, it may be a little pricey for a piece of rubber-like material, but it was worth it for me to avoid potentially big problems if the ladder slid out from under me.

The smell is real, like the other reviews mentioned. I keep it in the shed so I only smell it when I take it out to use it. I've left it in the shed for over 3 weeks and the smell is still very pungent. Besides the smell, the product meets my need for extra safety when using the ladder. It's a good trade off for me as it's safety vs smell. I haven't tried rinsing it with water or washing it to rid the smell. Seem like the smell comes from the lubricant to prvent the rubber from drying out when stored in-stock. From the smell, the lubricant is very likely oil based.

I rarely write reviews but this product was fantastic and did exactly what it was supposed to do. I have a 17' ceiling in my entry over a slick tile floor. This gave me the confidence and security to paint with an extension ladder. Worth every penny.

This is a neat product. Two things; it doesn’t work super well when it’s under 25 degrees Fahrenheit, at least on concrete. The second is that if you order this, unwrap it and leave it in a well ventilated area for at least 24-48 hours so it can off gas. It has a strong petrochemical smell when you first open it. Other than that I don’t have any complaints.

I received a product that was labeled as "New", but upon inspection, it was used. Although this was disappointing, I didn't make a big deal out of it. There was a slight odor, but I left it in the garage for two days and the smell disappeared.While it does offer additional stability, I prefer to have someone standing by me in case of any mishap.

This rubber mat prevents the ladder from sliding on your floor and from scratching it up. Has a strong rubber smell upon receipt, but I let it air out a couple days in the garage and it was no longer noticeable after that.

Protects floors well but misshapes a little too easy. However leave it in the sun on a flat surface and it will sort of go back in shape.
