Superb
This is a superb little speaker. It’s the size and weight of a housebrick, so surprisingly heavy for an item of this nature. It comes with a little rope handle for carrying, but you’ll really notice the weight if you have it in a backpack.THe speaker itself is a simple affair, bluetooth only with no smart capabilities. The only socket is the USB-C for charging, there’s no AUX in or any other connection facility. It only works when bluetoothing music off your phone or iPad.There’s a Bose app available which allows you to change EQ settings, for example to boost bass, or connect a second speaker so you can have a stereo pair. It does work straight out of the box though without using the app, simply select it as the bluetooth device on your phone. So, as for sound, as you may expect from something from this brand and price point it’s excellent. Very punchy and weighty sound, with excellent bass, especially if you boost it in the app. It’s small size makes it easy to place around the home to stream music from a phone. The volume does get pretty loud whilst keeping the audio in good shape. I suspect this is for outdoor use, though I don’t hold with people blasting loud music in gardens and public spaces. An excellent speaker, really pleased with it.

Very easy to use, sound is OK
First impressions of this speaker are good. The build quality seems high with a rubberised construction that feels like it will stand up to a lot of wear and tear, and everything has been thought through so that it's ridiculously easy to use. Just turn it on, pair your phone/computer/other device and you're done. On the other hand there are no bonus features that you get with some similar speakers, like being able to use it as a speakerphone. You are encouraged to install the Bose app but it's not necessary and all it really offers you is basic EQ settings. On the plus side you can use the app without having to register an account. The speaker is heavy. It's not something you'll just casually grab to take with you. Charging is via USB-C. You get a double-ended USB-C cable in the box but no power adapter. While the world is rapidly moving towards USB-C everywhere, not everybody will find this convenient. If you only have an older USB-A socket to connect to you'll have to find another way to charge it.This is my first Bose product and I'm aware that they have a good reputation for quality sound. I'm by no means an audiophile but I found the sound OK. I was certainly not blown away by it. It's adequate. Being just one speaker it's obviously not stereo. Personally I'm not convinced it justifies the premium over less expensive competitor products but it feels like it will last a very long time.

Its a BOSE!
I’ve tried a lot of portable speakers - admittedly often non-branded ones - but the Bose SoundLink Plus seriously impressed me!The sound is incredibly clear with deep bass — way more powerful than you'd expect from something this size.I’ve used it in the garden, at BBQ's, during hikes, and even in the shower (yep, it’s waterproof - rude not to test it!), and it hasn’t missed a beat.Battery life is a strong point — I got almost a full weekend of use without recharging.Plus, it’s easy to connect via Bluetooth, and the build feels really solid. If you’re looking for a speaker that combines great sound, durability, and true portability, this is absolutely worth it, even at nearly £250 (at time of review).

outdoor energy
I take this speaker to backyard barbecues and it easily fills the space with clear sound and punchy bass. The IP67 rating means I worry less about splashes or dust, and a single charge lasts well over a day of intermittent use. The carry loop is handy for hanging it on hooks or my bike.Pairing to my phone is instant, and the USB-C port doubles as a charger for my device when it runs low. Using two in stereo mode gives a wider soundstage, perfect for movie nights outdoors.
