Gochujang Hot Pepper Paste 1.1lbs

Received my package last week. It was the typical tub.....in a bubble envelope!!!! The tub was smushed, and the Gochujang was leaking in the bag. I washed off the tub, and proceeded to use the gochujang, which was lovely. 5 stars for product, and 1 star for packaging.

I initially used the product to spice up my chili. I have successfully used it in homemade soup and stew as well. It’s a very versatile addition to most dishes where a bit of spice is desired.

This is a great product if you like to enjoy spicy food. Level 4 heat in this case is quite spicy (spicier than sambal olek or sriracha IMO).I really wanted to make a spicy beef dish, so after reviewing a few products on Amazon, decided to buy this. Great move! I used this to marinate thinly sliced sandwich beef following a basic bulgogi recipe. I made a slight mistake of piling on too much "cold" meat on a hot skillet, so I didn't get the browning I desired. Otherwise, this is a great product for whipping up a quick marinade. I am certainly looking forward to trying another recipe using this very soon.

Great Item. I have bought this product 3 times already and I can truly say the flavor is insanely good. I normally use this with udon noodles and shrimp with Mirin and sesame seeds for dinner (also good with romen and Shin Ramyun noodles). You can use this on anything and it enhances the flavor profile of the item. All in all a great product I gave 4 out of 5 stars only because IMO it could have been a bit spicier but then again I could've bought the other brands that Have the heat I'm looking for.

I didn't like that I wasn't able to taste this. And that it came exploded basically and broken. It was all over the box it was shipped in. It came with other products luckily they were all food products. One was a chili oil that was carefully wrapped in bubble wrap. Which is what should have been done with this product. If it had it would probably had saved it. It smelled good and looked good. Too bad I was unable to use it. Don't know if the seller suggests how to ship it or if Amazon does. I can't be the only one who has had this problem either. Its a real light plastic bottom. Because if UPS isn't careful there goes the product, splat. Which is why I still gave 3 stars.

Unusable as received. the container opened inside the mailer and the contents spilled out into the mailer.

The best kind of paste - It's hot, but it has a nice, complex flavor profile.I made a quick BBQ sauce for some chicken with this, honey, rice vinegar, and a tiny bit of molasses (Thanks, Bobby Flay). Dee-lish.Also an excellent base for a stir fry with garlic, brown sugar, and teriyaki.It's the new Sriracha, and it's better.Only knock is it is super-sticky, and hard to get off the spoon. It thins out with heat.
