Breyers Delights Low Fat Ice Cream to Indulge Without the Guilt Creamy Chocolate 100% Grade A Milk & Cream, All American Dairy 16oz

I'm so glad to have found this on Amazon Fresh! This is similar to a low-fat ice cream that I used to get from the grocery store. To me, it tastes just as good as regular, high-fat ice cream. I'm not usually a big fan of ice cream or chocolate ice cream, in particular. It's thick & creamy and I'd recommend this to just about anyone.**UPDATE** I'M CHANGING IT TO 4 STARS because of how expensive it is. Also, I like to warm up ice cream in the microwave; I don't like it hard. But, when I do that it doesn't melt consistently like other ice cream. That's just my preference.

This is by far the best diet ice cream I've had in a while. I have tasting issues due to covid, so can't give fair score to the richness of taste, but I can say I don't have any bad taste from it. It is very smooth and creamy actually almost unnaturally so. I got it on sale so it wasn't breaking the bank to try. With all the snacking being done now this treat makes you feel a little less guilty.

This is a major step forward when it comes to low calorie ice cream. It is better than Halo Top, mainly because it lacks any protein concentrate aftertaste; if that's something you don't care for, this is a definite improvement. But it's also creamier and seems to melt more smoothly and usually does not freeze quite as hard. It tastes very close to traditional ice cream, in fact, it is better than some regular chocolate ice creams I have had. The chococlate version is excellent, but the vanilla is also very good. I tried the mint chocolate chip, and it was acceptable, but not as good as the others, and even as a mint choclate chip lover I will probably stick to the chocolate.

You first need to know that I really dislike brands Halo Top and Enlightened. Strange aftertaste and chalky texture. No thanks. I thought I'd try this Creamy Chocolate one out with my Amazon Fresh order because of the outstanding reviews it's received. Those reviews are LEGIT. This is so yummy. Creamy. Chocolatey. No weird aftertaste. Now, don't go all crazy and eat the entire 16 oz container. Don't fall into that "fat free cookie" means I can eat more cookies nonsense of the 1980s. But only a few bites on the occasional evening, this satisfies my sweet tooth and makes me happy.

I had lowered expectations for this ice cream after having tried some of the Halo Top flavors, which were okay but not great. I was very pleasantly surprised, especially because I tend to dislike healthier versions of chocolate foods. This ice cream was really good and it didn't taste like I was eating a low cal, low fat version.

It had melted.

I like gelato so it's definitely not close to being that good, but for what it's worth in calorie savings (if true), this tastes creamy and does not scream "diet" by being too airy or with any aftertaste. Price should go down as calories do.
