Will these bags filter out the stuff that settles in the bottom during fermenting?

Yes. It filters the majority of sediment with one filter. A second may be necessary but the bag is a huge time saver. I shake mine out after it dries then into the washing machine and it’s good as new.

Can these bags (the draw strings) withhold a pully system holding it up when letting wort drain?

I would think so. its pretty strong after several brews. I dont hang my bag like that tho.
