EDIT / UPDATE: After several weeks, I'm getting great results. Especially with the "heat dome" and 80%-100% humidity. But I also had a Split Second Power Outage during heatwave. THE UNIT TURNED OFF COMPLETELY. If you have occasional outages, this might not be the best model for a basement or location that you don't visit daily. Ex. Vacant House or Vacation homes you leave empty half the year. ORIGINAL EARLY REVIEW: I bought this 22 pint model for $160. as so many end up doing, I read the reviews after making the purchase. A good number are negative. But I'm not sure what to make of all the fly by night Overseas brands, with mystery brands stamped on the same machines. I prefer to stick to the makes and models included on US Government Recalls. (And these dehumidifiers do get recalled from time to time) That said, take note of the reviews being vastly different, PAYING ATTENTION TO THE PINTS matching up with any given unit. And also noting whether or not other reviewers product arrived brand new from the factory, or open box returns. I'm going to buy the Amazon warranty just in case. (Seeing the hassles of dealing with Electrolux Warranty Dept) BACK TO THE UNIT: Box was sealed and unit was brand new & unused . (Some reviewers claimed to have received used and previously returned unit. ) The unit is LIGHT WEIGHT relatively speaking. Weight of a small microwave? If you need a neighbor to help left the box, it's not like asking to remove anything major. (You're not asking for someone to remove a refrigerator up or down 150-year-old stairway ) I tightened up the somewhat loose hose cap, seeing so many mention their units leaking. I haven't had any leaking as of yet. If that's a concern, get a $5 plastic Boot & shoe tray from the builder stores. (My flooring is slate = difficult to damage) The filter is one of those "you vacuum" reusable mesh filters. MAJOR BONUS . (Vs. Those appliances that require $40 replacement filters 3x a year. ) SO I PLUGGED IN THE MACHINE, ran it on high overnight. Woke up the next AM to a full tank of water. The machine beeps 8 times and shuts down when it's full. 22 pints is approx 2.5 gallons. But the tank isn't necessarily 2.5 gallons. Other reviewers have noted this. I'm in a slab built townhouse. Wood Frame. Drywall Ceilings and Walls. Sound is acceptable and barely noticable on the slab level. Similar sound to a bathroom fan or range hood on Low to medium. CONVERSELY , placed on the upper levels you will hear the PULSATING, REVVING BUZZING SOUND similar to a 30 years old window air conditioner. Somewhat of a bummer, as I bought this to keep moisture low upstairs to prevent clothes moths. BUT I also run the Central HVAC fan 24/7. And I'm getting an impressive 5 gallons a day from a 1,200 3 story home. So I'm gonna keep this kitty. I had to move the Dehumidifier back to the slab level. Out of respect for my shared wall neighbors. And also to preserve my sanity trying to sleep to that grading compressor noise. Seriously. Don't run this ON A 2ND FLOOR if you have shared wall neighbors. And don't run this if you have units above or below yours, WITHOUT Concrete Slab Floors.. You'll just drive your neighbors and yourself absolutely insane. (I've lived in airport landing paths and a long Police-EMS corridors . You get used to the sound and barely notice it after a few weeks. The pulsing, revving sound from this unit is not something you'll get used to. ) BACK TO THE RESULTS: I'm getting at least 2-3 tanks full of water per 24 hours. So the unit definitely works. Seeing all the negative reviews, Buy that Amazon warranty! The Amazon Asuriom warranty is often mentioned as much easier and more reliable Vs the corporate warranty. You file the claim online anytime 24 hours. And they give you a credit toward buying a new machine.

ok - Where to begin. We bought this same unit last year that didn't want to start when we set it up this year. Based on dehumidifiers poor performances overall, we bought an Asurion 2-year policy. The policy kicked in and we were given our purchase price within five (yes, FIVE) minutes of filing. From the reviews, we decided to try a Waykar unit. First one came and ran continually for DAYS w/o getting close to our 40% setting - and it was significantly louder than the Frigidaire. We sent it back and thought we'd try the large unit, Waykar 2000. OMG - could hardly talk above the noise that one gave off and IT didn't do well getting the humidity lower than 48%. So, it went back - what a pain. We finally purchased the Frigidaire 2024 "updated" version of the unit we purchased last year. I'm sorry - you can't beat the quietness of this unit. We bought another insurance policy that we expect we'll need to use in the next couple years, but it'll be worth the trouble for the large tank, quiet running, and it ACTUALLY gets the humidity down to 35% where I want it! We do not purchase insurance regularly from Amazon, but because dehumidifiers are SO unreliable, for us, it's money well spent.

The Frigidaire 22-Pint Dehumidifier has been a great addition for managing humidity in smaller spaces. It’s well-built, easy to set up, and started working right out of the box. The unit feels sturdy and thoughtfully designed, which is what I’ve come to expect from Frigidaire. Performance has been excellent for its size. It noticeably reduces humidity in rooms up to 1,500 square feet, making the air feel more comfortable and helping control moisture and musty odors. The 1.7-gallon water tank holds a good amount before needing to be emptied, and removing and reinserting the bucket is simple and mess-free. I also appreciate how quiet it runs compared to other dehumidifiers I’ve used, which makes it suitable for bedrooms or living areas. The controls are intuitive, and the unit maintains consistent humidity levels without constant adjustment. Overall, this dehumidifier offers strong performance, good quality, and excellent value for the price. It does exactly what it’s designed to do, and based on this experience, I would absolutely purchase from Frigidaire again and recommend this model to anyone needing reliable humidity control for smaller rooms.
