Husband loves it!
My husband has a gigantic head, where it's basically impossible to find a fitting hat for them. This hat actually fits their head rather nicely, and the adjustable rubber band makes it such that they can also wear it on our daily bike rides! The super wide brim also makes them very cool on sunny days and covers their face during most times of the day.I will say that for the shipment, the hat will come curved, but you can actually press it flat like you would press a seam when you're working on a sewing project. However, please keep in mind that this is polyester or synthetic fabric, and please use a protective fabric before blasting it with a crap ton of steam. I accidentally melted the fabric on one tiny spot. It's not a big deal, but please keep that in mind. Look up how to press a seam, grab an iron, a cotton fabric, and an ironing board, and you should be good to go!

Great item!
I really like these hats as they keep the sun off of your face. I don't like to wear sun screen so I wear one of these hatsinstead.

Sun protection in the extreme
It's comically big. Gets lots of points and whispers from passersby, but it's dang sure the bee's knee's for sun protection. Only downsides are the adjustment band and brim crease. The plastic doohicky intended to hold the elastic sizing band is vestigial, at best. It didn't hold a darn thing. Finally gave up and used a stretchy velcro strap around the outside. Also, it shipped folded into a small box, leaving the brim permanently creased. So far nothing has helped, but given the comically large brim I'm not to worried about it. Even crease-free it's a spectacle worthy of chuckles and comments. Don't care, though, as it's the first time in my adult life I've been able to spend a day outside without either bathing in suscreen or coming home blistered beyond recognition.

Collapsible. Comfortable. Completely covering my head.
Hello.Every year from March to October - or if I skip October, allowing the weather to stunt the grass growth - or November I mow the lawn, and I often place a towel over my head, and sometimes a hat or cap to weigh the towel down and mow the lawn.I mow the front lawn, ditch, and side of the house on the first scheduled day, and the back lawn for the next day.Usually by now I'd have a tree full of leaves, but since the recent winter storm, there are a few budding leaves and has left the back lawn nearly shadeless. So I decided to buy this hat after EXTENSIVE research and notetaking as to what information I could gather from the photos, as well as from descriptions and Customer comments and videos. I usually make a list and save all my searches to an aptly-titled online Shopping List and place my top pick in the Cart. Then I fill the online cart up to the 'threshold', so I avoid paying shipping fees. Why pay extra money on nothing when I could be spending it on something I need? So just as I would go to a store and fill my shopping cart there, I do the same online, filling my cart up to the threshold that allows for free shipping, then I make my purchase. This hat is advertised as machine-washable, waterproof, and UV Protecting, which are nice features. A couple or so years ago I bought a straw hat from Sam's Club, not fully completing my sunhat research, but when I finally finished, I wad glad that I made this purchase.I imagined that the brim of this sunhat would not be sturdy enough for wear, and that I would have to wear the straw hat underneath it for stability, but so far there was no need for that whatsoever, so I'm glad for that.I plan to wear this hat every time I mow the lawn, and spend extended time outdoors.

Best hat for beachcombers!
My go-to sun hat! The quality is fantastic—durable, lightweight, and well-made. I love that it’s waterproof, so it handles ocean spray or sweaty hikes with no problem. It gives full coverage to keep my face shaded from the sun. I’ll definitely be buying it again and again!

How to fix some of the problems with this hat.
If you read several of the other reviews here, you'll find that many (most?) people had some issues with the size and the adjustment.I'm a 7 1/4 and it was too large for me. The cord locks that come with this hat are inadequate for the purpose of adjusting the size. This is partly because the locks are pretty weak and partly because the size adjustment cord has a slick surface. I had several, more conventional and much stronger, cord locks lying around because they came off other gear that I no longer use so I just slid one over the loop and used it to tighten the size. I didn't even bother to remove the cheapo one that came on the hat. It still works fine that way and is not obvious because of the design of the crummy one.The one for the chin strap seems to work well enough for the purpose mainly because the string is more substantial. But be warned, this is NOT a hat for windy conditions even with the chin strap. While the brim is definitely completely opaque, the crown appears to me to let an alarming amount of sunlight through. I can see a well lighted room through it when held up to my face well enough to navigate and find objects, but not well enough to choose a book by reading the title or seeing what's on my computer screen, though I can tell whether the computer is on or off. I'd put the SPF for the crown much lower than the 50 claimed for the hat, probably less than 10. If you have lots of hair up there it probably won't be a big deal for you.But this was a big concern for me, because my brother has had two malignant lesions removed from the top of his head and I have some benign ones there. So I plan to make some inserts to fit inside the crown and block the sun. This is an inexpensive hat, cheaply made but I otherwise like it very much and would be willing to pay more for an improved design that addresses these issues. You get what you pay for and I would not lose sleep if I lost it somewhere. It is certainly inexpensive enough that replacing it wouldn't cause any stress.
