We Belong Together

Someone gave me this book when my daughter was a baby and I thought it was the cutest little board book. It has the cutest pictures and the cutest little things as you read through them. this is my go to baby gift instead of a card. I usually give this book.

Darling illustrations paired with very sweet sentiments. Before baby started rolling over, he made for a captive audience and enjoyed looking at these simple for bright and colorful images. Nowadays he's too mobile to be bothered with sitting still long enough to be read even two pages of this, but on his own will page through it. So I love that it comes in board book format, because otherwise it would be in shreds. We also have the companion book, You Are My Cupcake, which is equally as darling.

My now-9-month old loves this book for story time. In fact, she loved it so much, I got the other one by the same author, "You Are My Cupcake", and they are in heavy rotation in her book box. She's learned the cover art, so she'll actually search for them! The illustrations are cute and colorful, the words are large and add to the illustration. Would highly recommend for anyone with a baby. Update, Septemeber 2012: My now 16-month-old still reaches for this one from time to time. She knows now to point at each item when I read out what they are ("fork and spoon", etc). She'll also turn the pages, and seem a little irritated if I skip a page (I've memorized this book). Too funny!

Wonderful pictures and adorable pairings!! My youngest loves Wan's books!! She'll bring them over to be read and points at each drawing. I have to say that the selling point of these books would have to be the pictures. They are drawn so beautifully and childlike. They are simply fun to look at! Great for little ones (baby showers, holidays).

My son is particularly fond of Joyce Wan's more recent works ("You are my Cupcake" is his favorite, followed closely by this book, "Hug You, Kiss You, Love You," and "My Lucky Little Dragon"), as these are the books he immediately takes from his shelf and reads over and over again. I'm quite a fan myself, as I think the illustrations are absolutely adorable, and the books are a great length for babies-- not too much text paired with big colorful pictures is a big win, especially for small babies. I'm hoping she keeps producing, because we will definitely keep buying.

Not as smashing of a hit like You Are My Cupcake this book overall is great! My 5 year old son gets a better kick out of me reading it than my 7month old but hey, what can you expect from a 7 month old? Wan's series of books are delightful and very visually pleasing to all ages.

My son adores this book. I read this to him when he was a baby and he’s 3 now and still asks for it to be read. The illustrations are so cute and some have puns to it. It’s a good quality book. Some of the pics have raised parts so baby can touch it.

Really cute book about things that go together. Bright colors throughout, textured pages and smooth. Illustrations are adorable. Good for a boy or girl. Would be really great as a gift for first time parents before they leave the hospital.
