Good product for salt pools
I used this product last year in my pool. Last year I switched to a salt water pool and the guy that installed the pool recommended this to help keep the pool free of algae and protect the free chlorine in the pool. He said to use two bottles when opening the pool and two when closing the pool and 16oz per week during the season. After reading the directions and the dosage needed for the size of your pool per how many gallons, I needed only 8oz. So every week I took a measuring cup and dumped a cup per week. I never had any issues with algae all season and this was the first time I had the pool open so I was a little overwhelmed about being a pool owner. When I closed the pool last year I did add two whole bottles of this to the pool just as advised by the pool guy. Most pools is this area of the midwest were really dirty and mine was no different.Update: 6-1-18After opening the pool this year I adding two full bottles of this per the pool guys advise. I added the necessary salt and have so far not had any issues. The pool is very clear with no signs of algae. I even have a neighbor that used my pool guy this year and they have own pools for 20+ years and have also had good luck and good things to say about this product keeping their pool clean and clear. I'm not sure if this product will work with regular chlorine pools but I'm sure someone can tell you. As for me I have had great luck with this keeping my pool clear and algae free.Update: 9-16-19After three years as a pool owner I have had good luck with this product. I have the same pool guy open and close my pool and two full bottles are used during the opening and closing. I have a little less that 15,000 gallon salt water pool and live in south MO. This year I have used this product less and forget to add it some weeks and just add two doses the next week. And still have a clean and clear pool. I noticed negative reviews and a question of integrity and validity of these reviews was brought up. I'm no pool expert, I've written several reviews on amazon and have felt fair in my honest opinion and I'm not paid my PoolTech or Amazon to say that. Now that said there's one thing I've noticed by being new to pool ownership, all pools are different. Where you live in the US, different climates, temps, rainfall, how hard your water is, how much sun does the pool get all effects how much chemical you use. If this product doesn't work in your pool it doesn't work, there's probably lots of factors as to why that is. I will say I have a great pool guy and his advise and knowledge is invaluable he has 30+ years of pool and spa experience and the only time I didn't use his advice was on the dosage because the guys at PoolTech probably also know what they are talking about. My brother is new pool ownership and he had so many issues with trying to clean us his pool. The pool store he was going to weren't selling him the wrong product to clear up his pool it was how he administered that product. Once he went to another store and that guy gave him advice from 20+ year knowledge his pool cleared up. So this is still a good product for me. Try it out if it works it works. If it doesn't ask a pro as to why your pool is still dirty.

This product works like a charm.
This product works like a charm. If use around winter; not too much over the pool cover with a little bit of water, by the time you open the pool for summer, the water is already cleared. I've been using this product for the past 4 years and I love it.

Works well if used properly
This is a great product if used properly. Anyone who says it "doesn't work" or "don't waste your money" has no idea how to use it.This product makes your chlorine work better to prevent and kill algae. Proper water chemistry balance is always key. Once your water is balanced, add Pooltec to your pool, and it collects and holds onto the free chlorine in your water, helping the chlorine do its job. Use it all year round in small amounts to keep your pool clean and clear. I am not a pool professional, just a savvy homeowner who knows his pool.

Really works and saves chlorine as advertised
I’ve use this product for three years now. There may be a generic brand out there, but I haven’t been able to find one that works as well. Definitely reduces chlorine and definitely cleans up the water very quickly. Using a little goes a long way after pool is Opened. I would say my chlorine use is cut by at least a third if not by half weekly.

Good algaecide, limited shock needed
This is a decent product--one of the best I've used in my 13 years of pool ownership. My pool guy recommended this instead of excessive shocking (since that can be hard on your liner over time). Returned from vacation to visible algae, uped the chlorine to 3 ppm and then tossed in the whole bottle (30,000 gal pool). In 24 hours, my pool was blue but cloudy with no additional chlorine. Added chlorine and brushed twice daily... By day 2, pool was swimmable, by day 4, pool was crystal clear as if algae had never happened and I never added more than 3 ppm of chlorine. Will now purchase to use as a maintenance product and will keep on hand in case of a bloom. For reference, I have a sand filter. Pricey product but worth it. Only major disadvantage is that it takes a week or more to arrive so purchase in advance of problems.

Finally clear!
We bought a house with a salt water pool last year and have always had issues with algae growth. Even after getting all chemical levels and pH perfect, and replacing the chlorine generator, algae would start showing up after 7-10 days without shocking the pool. I figured this was because we have a lot of trees and other foliage around the pool, so just figured this is how it was going to be. I ran out of algecide so did some searching on Amazon for some. Figured it would all be the same, but noticed some major price differences between options so I did some digging and the reviews on this stuff seemed pretty amazing. Even though it was more money than the stuff I had been using, I figured WTH, I'll try it, especially since it said it helped with salt water pool chlorine generators. I gave it an initial dose per the instructions and waited to see what happened. By the next day, I was amazed at how clear the pool was. Then after 2 days, our pool was the clearest it had ever been. It's been 2 weeks now and I haven't had to brush the algae off the sun shelf, steps or curved wall where our robot can't reach. This was typically something I had to do every 4 to 5 days before and then shock it to keep it from coming back right away. This stuff is truly awesome and my family thinks I'm a hero now because our pool is so clear. I'd give this 6 stars if I could.
