What a Rush!!!
Let me start by saying that this is one of the best purchases i've made towards learning some skill and at the same time getting some fitness going. This machine pushes you to your limits with regards to hand/eye co ordination and has you dripping with sweat in no time, once you can keep those balls on the table :) I've always enjoyed playing TT when i was younger and was dormant at the game for over 10 years now,so i decided to get back on the trot when this new training partner since i have no one else at home to spar with.I must say, after getting this robot about a month ago,i've gotten an increase in confidence and shot making ability when others come over to play, and i can only see myself getting better and better.Let me also say that playing against a human opponent has alot more variables involved with regards to spin and speed where there's constant change, but alot of practice with this robot will definitely give you a boost.i bought this robot and shipped it to the Caribbean where i live and i must say special tks to the guys at Newgy for making this a very smooth process, they were very helpful.I do hope that this robot stands the test of time and use as the built quality seems to be pretty good. The preset programs a very challenging and you have the option to create your own drills in normal mode or pc mode. All in all is a great product from a great company and I endorse it fully.....

Definitely worth the money
The 2050 offers a wide variety of training shots. Even my 4 yr old aks to use it. It truly acts like an exercise machine that has addictive qualities. I haven't used it like a table tennis club would but so far so good. Just make sure there are enough balls in the hopper for continued drills.Be sure to keep the cable untangled as you rotate the head of the robot for the assorted spins. My one complaint is the brightness of the display screen. If I'm not wearing my glasses it's extremely difficult to read the chosen settings. For this reason it gets 4 stars.

Cool Excercise Machine. Not Ping Pong Game Trainer
Having read lots reviews I bought the Robo-Pong 2050 three months ago. I played with it for 3 months. Here is my experience. It is a ping pong playmate or exercise machine, similar to walk treadmill. You get excited; you get worked out; you can play with anytime without begging a human partner; you beat previous yourself and get a level higher... If those are what you want, it is a great product for you.It is not a trainer for ping pong games. Compared to human player, it is mechanical and can do very limited poses. Worst of all, any ball is shot out with fast spinning. It cannot shoot a ball without spinning hard. The further shooting the harder spinning. No human players play like that. The second worst thing is that its projection angle is fixed. You have to stop the machine and change projection angle manually. The third worst thing is that its spinning angle is fixed. You have to stop the machine and change spinning angle manually. Remember, when playing with human being, both projection and spinning angles are constantly change. It is a pingpong treadmill. If you expect to improve your pingpong skill, don't be fooled.

It has been fun... but for such a short period of time
It has been fun when it worked. The construction and material is typical "made in china" quality, but it worked! -- at least for 8 months, i played it for less than 30 times. Then suddenly the oscillator stopped working, this machine can only feed balls in on fixed direction no matter what i do with it, reboot, reconnect all the cables, reset all the settings... either the motor went dead or the control is fried.it is not fun to watch this 1000 dollar toy turn to a piece of junk in such a short time.

Novelty
The reviews we came across mostly favored this product. So we decided to give it a try. We enjoy playing ping pong and thought this would be a good product that will enhance our skills or at least give it a different perspective to the game itself. We were a little disappointed after a week of using this robot. The disappointment was not actually realized during the use. We found, in fact, that we could not play with human opponents as well as we did before the robot. Yes, we thought this was strange, but our hand-eye coordination dulled enough to make one scratch his head and wonder "What happened?!"The videos we watched before purchasing this product were actually mostly by or for Newgy products or by folks who have aerobics in mind. For those players who are more serious, you may find this less of a challenge.Yes, the features like the ball recycling, Pan/Speed/Tilt, and the catch net, are fun and seemed fun. However, the recycling function gets jammed often (friction produced) whether you think you have dirt/dust on the floor or table; the P/S/T functions have limits and become impractical to use as it hardly stimulates any real-life applications (AKA against a Human Player); the catch net is about one foot lower than it should be to be able to "catch" those high balls you'd return on occasion. The digital controller seemed cool also, but it really could use an upgrade to at least give you a present-day feel and look. It makes an old Samsung camera phone from 2002 look astronomically advanced. It uses a PS2 connection vs an USB.Some of the functional settings do not recall, making you having to set them each time. The problem is, after some intense return exercises, to recall certain settings you just played could become annoying. The set up was easy as advertised, and the take down was even faster. We'd never thought that once we took it down, it would remain down permanently. Sad but true. The build quality was not 'in line' with the purchase cost. Plastic shell with two wheels that sit on top of a plastic base throwing the balls when compared with other brands and models... If this product had more metals/non-plastic material and has that 'high end' appearance, the price may be better justified for us.If the purchase cost is half of what it is, we would consider keeping it. However, of all of the above-mentioned product downfalls, we have since returned it.Ps. The Pong Pal plastic transparent stick does not work as well and fast if you just bend down and pick up the balls with your hand.
