Decent accurate dial gauge, let down a bit by the stand
I do a lot of building and tinkering with 3d printers and have used this indicator to help with assessing the flatness/straightness of various components and making sure everything is tram and aligned. The indicator itself works well, the range is perfect for this application and the plunger moves smoothly without any stickiness or friction. I don't have a suitable way to determine absolute accuracy however it produces results pretty much in line with my calibrated Mitutoyo dial indicator. The magnetic base is handy and the magnetic force is sufficient to hold it in place. The arm offers a good range of adjustment and different positions to suit various uses, however I had issues in getting it sufficiently tight. The piece that attaches to the indicator itself was particularly troublesome and I struggled to get it to hold the indicator sufficiently tightly in place. Overall this is a decent kit, and I liked that it came in a solid case to keep all the bits together. With a bit of fiddling around you can get it to work, it just needs a little attention to making sure the indicator is securely held.

Versatile and easy to use
The mag base and adjustable arm is extremely versatile and easy to position. It comes in a storage case that is good too. The clock has prven to be reliable so far and for the price this is quite a good piece of equipment.

Reliable gauge for accurate readings
Why did you choose this product over others?: I chose this precision dial indicator because I often need to check the alignment and run out on my lathe and milling machine without guessing by eye. The clear scale and smooth plunger action looked ideal for measuring small variations and the magnetic base promised a strong hold on my steel table. I was keen to replace my old gauge that had become difficult to zero and often slipped during use. Accuracy: In practice the dial indicator delivers on its promise of accuracy. The needle moves freely and the graduations are easy to read even in lower light. The magnetic base really grips the metal surface when I switch it on and keeps the gauge rock steady while I rotate the workpiece by hand. I also like that the base’s steel body feels robust and stable rather than flimsy. Setting the zero point is straightforward and I have confidence that once it is locked in place it does not move unless I reset it myself. Ease of use: There are a few areas where this tool could improve. The on and off switch for the magnet is a little stiff so I find myself wrestling with it to reposition the gauge. The base is also quite heavy which makes it awkward to use on smaller or angled surfaces. I would welcome a lighter version or a detachable base for greater flexibility. Finally, the instruction leaflet is very brief and could benefit from more detail on care tips and how to recalibrate if needed. Overall I am pleased with the consistent readings and solid build quality. This gauge gives me the confidence to take precise measurements without worrying about slippage or unclear markings. If the magnetic switch were smoother and the base a touch lighter it would feel even more polished, but in its current form it remains a dependable addition to my workshop kit.

Neotek magnetic base and gauge
The magnetic base and the arm seem to be ok but the gauge itself is just Chinese rubbish, I don't think it will last 6 months??
