Test is good, but testing device could be better
Overall, I got this to supplement my Taylor k2006 kit, since I test ph and chlorine so often, and figured a liquid dpd would be nice as it doesn’t dissolve in powder form all that easily if the water is cold. The test is accurate and works as it should, and is a great value for purchase. But, the actually testing container is shaped very odd, unlike a normal cylinder the other test kit uses, this has a narrow tube the flares at the top, and it’s a little more annoying to pour out excess water accurately to get the exact amount; it like clings like it’s vacuum held into there until you break the tension and then too much tries to pour out. So not even to not recommend, but hope Taylor rethinks this design.

So much better then everything else.
I got into pool chemistry about 5 years ago. Just a little above ground pool but it's still the same process as large built in pools..I did my research back then and quickly learned that Taylor is the standard when it comes to testing pool water but the only kit's I could find back then were too complex and expensive for my little 1200 gal pool..We take good care of our little pool. We have replaced the liner once because it got some sand under it during setup one year that poked holes in it. (Now we buy a couple 80" x 144" moving blankets from harbor freight to put under it each year. The sun ruins the parts that stick out so they are consumables). So all this time I've been using the cheap OTO test for chlorine with the hard to make out yellow chart. I'd giving up on the phenol red for PH because I would get a color not even on the chart. (I've been using PH paper, though not as precise it worked good enough). So I just found the small 1001 kit from Taylor and bought it instead of buying more of the OTO for my old kit that I came looking for..OMFG! This kit is so much better..#1 It's pink not yellow and way easier to read the chlorine levels.#2 The Phenol Red actually works. I was only off by .3 with the paper.#3 The bottles come completely full. Not half full like those other cheap replacements.#4 I have to list it again, this kit is so much easier to read the results.FYI - Keep it inside, unless you peel the little label on the #0002 bottle you won't see it needs to be stored out of direct sunlight between 36f and 85f.7.2.23 - I added a photo of my actual pool water test this morning.

mini-me
I check chlorine and pH regularly. Total alkalinity far less. So I run out of the former's chemicals. Seldom the latter. This is the solution. Don't by the green top TAs. Perfect solution and right size so the chems don't overstay their useful life.
