Fun to play
Basic fun helped upgrade the software. Gameplay is good and product is fun. Hoping that through software updates all the wrestlers become available. Assembly was easy

Retro Fun!
Countercade plays as expected. Brings back challenges all over again! Worth the value. It takes about an hour to put together from unboxing to the completed assembly.

UPDATED - A+B Control Issue Fixed! And MACHO MAN appears!
11/4/2025 UPDATE! Basic Fun released a firmware update to rectify the A+B button functionality issue described below. It took many attempts, but I finally got the update to sync. (This machine does not have WiFi. A micro USB A cable was required to connect the unit to my PC.) Basic Fun has communicated that any new orders will already have the firmware update installed. New customers will not encounter this issue. Not only do the games work properly following the update, but I discovered a very pleasant surprise. Every now and then, Macho Man Randy Savage appears as an opponent in WW(F) Superstars. This is notable, as he is one of the characters that was removed due to licensing issues. While I didn't play the game prior to the firmware update to confirm, I suspect that the update accidentally unlocked Macho Man in the ROM. And you know what? That's absolutely awesome. We're now one Andre The Giant away from realizing my dream of legally owning WW(F) Superstars as it appeared in the arcade. The A+B button functionality issue has been completely resolved. It works on all of the other games included with the unit. I commend Basic Fun and Spreetail for going above and beyond to fix a critical, game-breaking issue. Doing so was likely an expensive logistical nightmare - and now, they may have a major licensing issue due to Macho Man appearing when he's not supposed to be in the game. I have nothing but respect for the teams who've worked hard to bring this product to market - and I'm thrilled to say that I can now recommend the Counter Series unit. It's important to note that there are missing characters due to licensing issues. Sergeant Slaughter and The Legion Of Doom are missing from Wrestlefest. Andre The Giant is missing from Superstars. Macho Man occasionally appears as an opponent in Superstars, but he is not a playable character. (He was playable in the original arcade game). For that reason, I'm changing my 1 star review to 4 stars. And I'm enjoying this product very much. In fact, I suspect that this unit will be the only Basic Fun Arcade Classics product that features Macho Man, as he's been removed completely from Superstars. That makes this Counter Series unit a true collector's item. What a blessing that firmware update turned out to be! My original 1 star review from 10/19/25 is below for context. Thanks again to Basic Fun, Spreetail, and all involved for making things as right as logistically possible with the Counter Series Wrestlefest! *** Original review from 10/19/25: It pains me to write this. I've confirmed that this unit has a major, game-breaking issue involving the controls. The A+B buttons cannot be used at the same time. Each button works fine individually; however, using the buttons together does not work on any of the games included on the unit. This functionality is a big part of gameplay for Wrestlefest, Superstars, and Super Dodge Ball. A+B allows players to run and perform different moves in Wrestlefest and Superstars. A+B allows players to jump in Super Dodge Ball. I absolutely respect and appreciate all of the effort involved with bringing this product to market. I own and operate a retro video game company that makes and rescues Sega Genesis games - and I appreciate the logistics involved. Most importantly, I'm rooting for everyone involved with this launch to be successful. While I wasn't there, I'm confident that this issue was identified during testing prior to launch. I can appreciate that there may not have been an opportunity to correct this prior to launch. If that was the case, it seems that a decision was made to launch this product without proactively communicating the issue to customers. It's easy to understand why such a decision would be made, especially if they were anticipating a customer backlash. All that said, I feel that decision was a critical error. Customers are gold - and sadly, this marks the second major issue that was not communicated before units were sold and used. I've waited my whole life to own a home version of WWF Superstars. I desperately want to support this product, and to see it succeed. Honestly, this entire process has me feeling really sad. It's more than disappointment. It's actual sadness. For context, this is the first online product review that I've ever written. I don't comment on social media or any other reviews. This is just such an egregious error, I feel compelled to let others know before they invest hundreds of dollars on hardware that doesn't work. Thank you very much for your time; courtesy; and consideration. Hopefully these games will be rereleased in a countercade format with controls that actually work. Until then, save your time and money - even if you're a diehard fan of Wrestlefest and Superstars like I am.

Great gift for youths who love wrestling!
This counter arcade came quick and made a great gift to my grandson. No assembly and its sturdy. The seller responded to all my questions and delivery was timely.

Worth the cost?
First, know yours building it from the frame up. It’s well made and easy to put together but it will take about 30 mins. Also, can’t figure out how to get to the Home Screen after you play a game and want to switch. Some buttons don’t work. Works just like the arcade versions so that’s why I give it 3 stars.

The old Boss likes it.
My old Boss Liked it, it was a gift for him. while i did put it together, and it was missing a few screws for the screen, it seems that it is able to sit on the wooden lips for the time being, Otherwise from what i've been told it was good for him and his 6 kids living at home

Waste of money
Purchased Tempest machine. Controls did not work on two games and barely worked on Tempest. Returned machine and was told I would have to pay a restocking fee even though I received the machine broken. Item description clearly states free returns. Seller does not back their product and keeps making vague excuses about restock policy that shouldn’t apply to a product that was shipped with a malfunctioning control panel. The games packaged in with machine also don’t make sense as some of them either use trackball controls or lever controls. Do not waste your money. They make Arcade One Up machines seem premium.

It's a good looking game.
It looks really cool. I love the look of arcade machines. The tabletop arcade machines are appealing to me. Mainly because I dont have a lot of extra room for the large ones. I have 2 3/4 size games and the rest of my cabinets are 1/4 size or smaller. They're more of a decoration than I actually use them but I do use them when I feel like it. I like to turn them on in my game Room on a Saturday night when im just hanging out with a few people. This wrestling one really caught my eye. I especially like the look of this cabinet. The old WWF is my generation. Hulk Hogan, Big Bossman, Ultimate Warrior, etc... is what I grew up on. So this retro wrestling theme and retro style gaming is perfect for what I like. I was able to put it together in 30 minutes or less. I've played it a few times so far and I haven't had a single issue. I tried different games and characters. Not ever single character but every game. Personally, I think it's well worth the price.
