OtterBox SYMMETRY SERIES Case for Samsung Galaxy J7 2nd gen/J7 V 2nd gen/J7 Refine - Retail Packaging - BLACK

I cracked my bargain phone and while I've gone most of my life without consistently keeping a case on my phone, it's finally gotten to be a habit of it dropping and falling out of my pockets too much to keep worrying. This case fits great and was super easy to pop my phone (Samsung J7 Star) right into it. No two- or three- or four-pieces, no snapping, no little fit or tabs to break off when I need to remove it occasionally for cleaning. Coverage looks good, it feels sturdy, and while I'm not planning to throw it on concrete to test its durability, it covers all the parts I've generally had crack and chip on past broken phones. The charging port and headphone jack cut-outs are also the perfect size - no troubles plugging my phone for music or charging! Material is a nice, hard plastic, not the rubber soft-feel stuff that tends to get gummy and discolored with use, and not a cheap and thin plastic like a lot of decorative covers are made of, so I definitely feel more confident with the quality and durability.Does the case make the buttons slightly stiff? Sure, but not that badly. It was one of the first things I tried - power and volume buttons, and they responded immediately. It's not going to be as easy as if the phone were bare, but that's kind of the point is to protect the edges. It doesn't have a built-in screen protector/shield, which I'm honestly okay with because I've had very little issue with scratches and prefer the screen sensitivity/ease of use/lack of air bubbles between film and screen without one. They're easy to find separate for cheap anyway if I did want one.Overall, I'm very happy and feel much more secure with this case on my phone!

This is hands-down the best case I've ever owned. It's basically just a solid rubber envelope but it's smooth, durable, and fits like a glove. It hasn't come loose in over a year, and I'm still able to get it off and back on easily.Best thing about it is it is TOUGH. I've dropped my phone on the ground multiple times with zero damage, once into water and barely any water got under the edge of the case, let alone into the phone, and I've even slammed my fist down on it like a gorilla in a luggage commercial a few times and it just absorbs and diffuses the shock like it's nothing. My phone doesn't have a scratch on it and still works perfectly despite the abuse. The outer rubber buttons are all still solid/stiff, aligned perfectly, and not crumbling at all like some cases I've had in the past. Forget accident insurance, just get this case.

The case for my Galaxy J7 star was coming apart after about 6 years and my phone is still working okay and I wanted to find the same case and this was it! Exactly the same make and perfect fit. Also very sturdy.

Fit my phone but side buttons were hard to push

We all drop our phone from time to time but take it from me this is not a good thing to do. I'm a former radio operator and a Marine Corps and I know that the two major things that will keep Communications not working properly or shocks and moisture. Well dropping your phone while that's the shock one. So don't recommend it but we all do it. And if you do you better make sure you got one of these protective devices around your phone because if you don't you're really asking for trouble. There's very sensitive solder points inside the phone that is on the printed circuit board and if you drop your phone once it can shock those solder points loose to wear yeah your phone is toast now. So worth it was. Get a protective case like this OtterBox. One suggestion though keeps it for being five stars. It was hard to get a grip on this case with my hands. I literally took some steel wool and scratched up the case a little bit so my fingers could get a better grip on it. It's kind of smooth so I kind of retrofitted that myself but all in all a good protective case by Otterbox a well known brand for this. And a good value at the price point I paid

Great phone case!!

This black Otterbox phone case was not really my first choice. I hoped for something that was *not* almost completely featureless, perhaps even only mostly black, but mixed reviews on protection with other cases left me avoiding them.Otterbox's name is good, but the reviews are good, too. Ok, so the slim look is not my thing. However, boy howdy, is it durable! While I don't think of myself as "that person" who drops their phone all the time, it seems I do drop it maybe once a month.My phone does not have a single mark. Between my standard, well-loved brand of screensaver and this case, my phone is still in near perfect condition. The case has not needed to be replaced, and has only a few prick marks on one corner.Not my favourite look, but performance is fantastic.
