Sturdy and easy to install
Cut a hole in the deck and screw it down. Really easy to install, and very sturdy. My attached picture shows it installed in a deck I built over a battery compartment in my boat. It can be walked on, and generally mistreated. I installed it over a carpeted deck, and screwed it into the plywood beneath. The door on the hatah opens just fine and seals all water out very well. No problems here.

Perfect doors for my boat. 20lbs. Navy anchor fits right through it. Also life jacket squeeze through . They were a sinch to install , and I liked how they seal when closed. They are water tight, and surprisingly rugged. I’m 200+ lbs and no problems at all stepping on these. They exceeded my expectations.

like. installed on flat deck flats boat. deck hatch that came with boat was waterproof like a bathtub drain with no plug.

I like it.
I didn't use it on a boat so no idea how it will stand up to the elements. It felt very sturdy and well engineered. I installed in a shower as a laundry chute. Screwed to the solid surface wall and sealed with silicone. Works exactly as well as one would hope to keep water out of the wall and room on the other side.

Nice hatch
I’ve had a hatch on my boat that has leaked since the day I bought it which is made it useless for dry storage. After 11 years I finally decided to replace it with this one. So far it’s watertight and I love it. Excellent bit.
