Awesome product
I needed to use this product for school and I was dreading paying the price thay these typically run. I was so glad to find this product and all of the gadgets that it came with. It was an incredible value for the otoscope along with the extra tools that were provided and they will be a great help in my class. I especially loved the fact that it came with the extra tips, Snelling chart, and all of the tools were easy to change out.

Great value for what you get
Great value for what you get. Everything comes in a neat case. You'll need to get 2 C cell batteries since the kit doesn't include those. I've tried all the pieces and everything appears to be working as intended. There are instructions provided on how to attach/detach things, how to turn on/off the light, and there's a list of most of the things that are included in this kit. Very helpful. Easy to use. Appears sturdy. Includes bulbs which is nice and something I didn't see in other kits available to buy at this time. Some things that would've made this better were if you were able to adjust the magnification, and if it allowed you to adjust the brightness on a wider range. The light is bright and I'm only able to adjust it to be a tiny bit brighter.Overall, I think it's a good product for a low price. I will be using this for my schooling.

POOR QUALITY, CANNOT BE RETURNED
Yes they are inexpensive /cheap, but imo a waste of money. DO NOT RECOMMEND.True thoughts from an NP student :MD/DO/FNP/ACNP: Please move away and get the expensive / good ones!PMHNP / RN : Go get the $49 one (cheaper than this but same quality) since you may not use an otoscope/ophthalmoscope in the future.1. CAUTION! this product is NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN.2. OTOSCOPE: the focus distance of the magnifying lens is exactly the length of the entire tip ----- which does not make sense! I tried to look at my hand first, I could only get a clear picture when I press the tip against my palm. This made ear examination impossible ----- you will never get a clear picture of the tympanic membrane(TM) unless you physically touch the TM with your tip (but who does that?!!!). I tried all the tips provided in the kit, but none of them could provide a clear picture of the TM. The best picture I got was a blurry blurry blurry "cone of light" (almost could not tell). Also, the original tip was full of dust inside. The dust will reflect the LED light and you will see a "snowy dust" before you see anything in the ear.3. OPTHALMOSCOPE: The LED light is not bright enough. I could barely see the red/orange hue when first shining the light into the eye (possibly due to insufficient lighting and cold LED light color). Also, the magnifying lens on the ophthalmoscope is not clear neither, there is NO WAY to do a fundoscopic exam because I could not see any details of the retina.4. LIGHTING: horrible. A traditional scope's light is supposed to be bright, warm/orange color. This thing is a somber, cold hue, from one tiny LED light bulb.5. BATTERY: uses 2 C-cell batteries. C-cell batteries are not convenient. Plus, if you decide to implement C-CELL X2 which provides more mAh, why do you still make the light so dark??????It is not even close to a clinic/classroom otoscope and ophthalmoscope. I can't imagine myself being a provider one day and assessing my patient with this... Not recommended for students neither because you CANNOT VISUALIZE anything and you WILL NOT LEARN.If you are a student and need to record a video for your health assessment class and show your assessment skills using a opthalmoscope, you should be ok with this product. BUT!!! ---- there is a cheaper set at 49 dollars with fewer parts, same low quality, uses 2 AA batteries. Get the $49 one if you just need them for the class play.If I were to make a simile, I would say this product is more like a $15 stethoscope. Eventually you will need a $50-200 stethoscope on the floor to really hear and diagnose.

Fantastic quality for reasonable price!
The starter kit comes with multiple attachments (more than enough for a year of clinical rotations). The tools are just right for someone starting their 2nd/3rd years of medical school.Regarding the durability - the scopes are made of metal and plastic trim. The metal seems very durable. The handle is weighted nicely and can most likely handled being banged up.The container that stores all the tools is compact enough to fit in any backpack - and even white coat (maybe a tad bulky for white coat but nonetheless ~2inches in thickness)Would recommend to any medical student or trainee. Great starter kit to learn how to use the tools and should last you well into residency.
