Authentic Genuine Nagoya UT-72 Super Loading Coil 19-Inch Magnetic Mount VHF/UHF (144/430Mhz) Antenna PL-259

I brought one of these alongside one of the Abree Tacti-cool antennas. Not a lot to difference when it comes to RX but this easily beats the Abree in a straight up TX comparison.

This antenna is a replacement antenna on various handheld radios. Works perfectly on my SenhaiX 8800. Better range than the rubber duck.

Picks up all bands advertised.

Ordered this as it covers the 3 bands, but received the NA-771 instead! OK, I can use it for what I need, but it’s NOT what is described!!

As far as I can tell, the antenna I received is a 100% genuine Nagoya NA-771 antenna. I used the guidance at Nagoya's How-to-identify-the-genuine-and-fake-antenna web-page and the item I received matches all the examples for a genuine antenna and sleeve - the printing is good, the sleeve bag is good and the antenna came with a spacer o-ring.I don't have the equipment to test whether it behaves as it should, but when I connected it to my UV-5R handset I was able to receive signals at a fair range, better I think than the stock antenna (but I didn't test it super-hard before switching to the NA-771 full-time).

Nice ground plane set needs an NMO plug though or some kind of convertor

I bought this antenna on recommendation. I tested it on a SWR meter and found the standing wave ratio to be over 3.5 which can be damaging to the radio. My radio is a Bofeng UV-5R. The recommended SWR should be 1 .0 to 1.5. I returned the antenna

I disassembled mine and sealed it up wíth black adhesive sealant RTV from Permatex after I applied another coat of high heat Rust-Oleum matte black bbq grill paint. No water is getting in this thing and it tested perfectly on the nanoVNA too.

I am keeping this antenna on my main kick around radio, a Tidradio H3. It fits nicely and works well. I like the thinner antenna because it gets in the way less if I am wearing the radio around. Thinner may mean less long term durability, but I have other radio antennas of the same size that have held up many years of infrequent use. I have no way to know if the antenna is genuine or not, but I am happy with the build quality and performance of the antenna so far.

Works well - allows me to transmit and receive on VHF, 220 and UHF up to 100KM or more.
