OMG.... Heaven On Earth!!!
WOW!!! I've had this effect pedal for a bit over a month and this thing ROCKS!!! I play all kinds of Rock, be it Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Alt-Rock, or even some Southern Rock and a touch of Country-Rock... and this pedal does it all!!! Even the factory settings are cool. They aren't laid out in a quick to get to fashion, but perhaps if I actually read the user manual I might learn how to move the settings into a "quicker" pattern. They are "tweekable", which makes this thing awesome!! I've been playing for 36 years and I've used THE BEST effect pedals ever made... The RP55 is an awesome unit for the puny price it sells for... I highly recommend it to anyone, beginner, expert or especially the players "In-Between". The ONLY negative thing I could say about this unit, is that I wish it had a good old fashioned "on / off" button or switch... Bypassing it is very easy, but if ya want to turn it off, ya have to unplug your guitar input cord... Kinda dumb... but otherwise a GREAT unit!!!

Nice intro to effect pedals for price
I was looking to add some kind of effect pedal to expand my guitar playing. I have been playing guitar 22 years but as a second instrument (Drums are my main focus) and have a 91 Washburn Acoustic/electric and my father's 62/63 Fender Jazzmaster with a Pevay Scorpion amp. Being fortune to have the Jazzmanster and with my amp gives me a nice clean sound however I don't have much range change and instead of purchasing a want to be strat I wanted something to give me some different ranges, and by purchasing this pedal it has given me instant versatility. It has 40 programmed effects with another 40 that mirror the first 40 but that is what you uses a baseline and you can alter those to give you a total of 80. This was easy to use out of the box; I did purchase the power cord as recommended by other reviews instead of just using the batteries. When plugging in the pedal the first time into my amp the volume defaults a bit to the high side so made some awful sounds but realized that I needed to turn the volume down to like 1 or 2. This pedal also has a built in drum machine with different patterns and variable speeds that can be used to play along with. The thing that I thought was a great surprise that I may have missed in some of the info and reviews is that instead of plugging the effects pedal into my amp you can plug headphones into the output and you will get the same sounds/effect as you hear out of your amp, like it is it's own amp. Now of course the setting on the amp will make that sound different but great for playing at night when everyone is asleep or in small areas that you don't want to bother people during the day. This model is being discontinued since the RP70 is going to be the low end DigiTech will have now but if you are looking to expand your playing this is a great pedal for the price.

guitar processor/digital effects
Awsome little gadget.....paid forty nine bucks....has 50 different pre-sets and you can add your own sounds and save them...plus it has a built in drum machine with diffent patterns...you can speed up the tempo or slow it down/and change rythems of the drums! takes 6 AA batteries and lasts 16 hours or more.......eneded up finding a power supply source for nine dollars.....that will save me money on batteries.for the price of an effect pedal/ you can explore your creative side with this device.....made youtube video 1149-70 bottle return using this....and youtube video 1149-107 fat canadian freewill/recorded with ipod nano..this effects processor has a built in tuner too!!!!! great product-nice sound!! hope this helps....

Great for the price
These are very very cool. Distortion tones are good but have little versatility. Seems like your either getting ear splitting metal or its clean. The clean tones are fine but nothing amazing. Built in eq seems pretty weird to try and dial in without either unnecessary hiss from trebel or woofer bass sounds. With the bad out of the way, I think this works excellently as a stompbox(despite being mostly plastic). You can shut off the amp models and run it into a amp with good clean or gain tones and use its different built in effects. I really like the chorus and reverb and its very easy to find usable tones. All in all, for the price you can't really beat it. It's lasted me about a year so far and everything is holding up great. (I forgot I dislike using this without the power adapter. If u want to use batteries its 6 AA's that die fast)

Love it. Direct replacement pedal. Good Deal!
Love it! Bought it as a direct replacement for an older model that (after many many years) broke after hitting the deck one too many times. The effects on this thing are very good - to fantastic depending on your guitar and amp setup. For example, I got much better results with my Les Paul through a good high-dollar tube amp which has a superior clean channel through which to play vs a cheaper entry level amp from days gone by. If you're on a budget, this is a solid multiple effects pedal for you to consider. I love mine and plan on using the blank out of it for many years!

Ordered this for my dad as a Christmas gift and was surprised when he told me he didn't know how to use it. Turns out what he received was something completely different (not a pedal at all, some accessory to another bit of kit). The seller seemed completely uninterested in getting him what i ordered so he returned it before eventually getting the RP55 from JBHiFi. He loves it though.
