YES! YOU CAN USE THEM ON ELIXER STRINGS! (but in a specific way)
Great product! When my Elixir strings lose their slipperiness, I use Fast Fret but only on the #1 and #2 strings (the E & B strings). Supposedly Elixir doesn't recommend this because "supposedly" all the strings are coated. We'll after awhile & before the bottom (heavier) strings lose their coating the top strings start to stick on my fingers. This brings the slide back to the first 2 strings. Does not affect the sound in the tiniest bit (I have a very good ear & have consulted other musicians with a very good ear). Also it extends the life on the 1st & 2nd string. So yes, you can use on Elixir strings (but in this very specific way!).

Great Product
I really love this for my electric guitar strings. I’m not comfortable using this on my Martin with an ebony fingerboard where it’s so oily, but it was perfect for my Fender Stratocaster. Doesn’t take much, and makes the strings feel much better. I don’t have super sweaty hands so really only need to apply this as needed when I feel my strings getting a little sticky. I play 8+ hours a day as a musician and college student, total game changer!!

I've been using Fast Fret for over 20 years.
I've been using Fast Fret for over 20 years. I think I may have purchased 2 in that time, so they last forever. Or at least they used to. The old design featured a wooden handle, and had a wrapped, cloth applicator tip, and came in a metal storage tin. While I only have good things to say about the product itself, I was a little disappointed to see that the design had changed, which is obviously a cost cutting technique, which I understand. I'm not sure how long the new applicator sponge will last, but at $5, I probably shouldn't care too much.I've used it on Rosewood, Ebony, Pao Ferro, and Walnut fretboards, and it conditions them enough, but does not leave a residue. I do not use it on Maple fretboards. The bottom line is that it's and excellent product, and I wouldn't use anything else, but I wish they made it the way they used to.

10/10
I tried this out for the first time a couple of weeks ago on strings that were played over 100 hours and were actually the strings that shipped with the guitar a few months ago. Not only did it condition the strings it made them feel great! The were very Silent Hill-ish and feeling very brittle but after some fast fret not only can I bend and slide comfortably but it also leaves the neck feeling slick like it’s been freshly cleaned and oiled. It’s been a few weeks and now I use this on every guitar I own every time I play. I wish I would’ve tried this sooner because it really is a fantastic product for any guitar player looking to extend the life of their strings or an overall boost in comfort and playability.

Love it
Only started using this a couple months ago and it really helps keep strings clean and feeling fresh.I have a bad habit of sliding around too much and causing ugly string noise but this stuff reduces that noise.I expect this will last some time but I'll certainly buy another one when it runs out.

Good stuff.
Love it, good stuff, especially on super slinky strings. :-)

Recommended for Stand Up Bass (Acoustic Bass)
Years ago I was talking with Herbie Lewis and he showed me a container of something that he was wiping on the strings. I sat in that day and noticed the difference in the feel of his bass compared to mine. Whatever he was using worked. I thought about that from time to time but never did anything about it. I just used hot water for years to wipe down my strings on a restaurant napkin. Do not do that. It makes the strings rust on the inside. Then I started using denatured alcohol. That work good too. But, I always thought about Herbie. So I decided to try this stuff. I spend a lot of time on the instrument practicing and playing with others. I am highly recommending this product for the bass after using it for three days. When you first get the product don't worry if the applicator is dry. Just push down on it and the oil will come through. People like to complain a lot. It's the way the stuff is designed. Just use it and you'll see that it allows from easy shifting and gets the strings clean and helps lift the dirt out of them. The string seem like they are more responsive. It's five stars.
