Why in some of the reviews people says that it's junked?

Mine is lying in junk too, precisely i would call it a toy good enough only to demonstrate the design and capabilities of a gyroscope to an enthusiastic kid - it requires lot of effort to spin and it doesn't retain the spin long enough to provide any reliable demonstrations.
