Excellent sharpener! I used to avoid electric pencil sharpeners and used old school knife because I like long leads for my pencils. Here it is! And it also handles bad wood and difficult to sharpen leads gracefully. From ugly yellow H2 school pencils to beautiful softest pastels — great performance! Also, the motor is very powerful when attached to the power source. Not sure how long it can last when traveling.I recommend this product for people who are like me — very particular about their drawing tools :) It will save lots of life of your expensive pencils and will upgrade your cheap supplies a bit too!

First one I received wore out in less than 4 hours of use. You have to recharge often in order for the motor to work at full strength. I did sharpen a lot of pencils, but it broke and stopped working within a few days. The central piece where the pencils go would not remain stationary and just kept spinning and spinning. There was no way to make it stop. There must’ve been a piece or part that broke or wore out. I do think it did a good job sharpening prior to becoming unusable so I requested a replacement. I’m still pretty sure this new one won’t last long, but I’m keeping my sharpening to a minimum. The good thing about this sharpener is the extra long points the pencils can get. It cuts down the time needed to hand sharpen to an extra long point, as is necessary for fine art drawing. For the most part, this was a big help, but as it is, the sharpener wears out too soon.

I like this pencil sharpener - although it isn't perfect; it is better than most of the other sharpeners I have seen advertised here or elsewhere. This pencil sharpener sharpens pencil to a longer point than most - but not so much that it breaks easily. I am satisfied with this purchase.It seems the vogue these days to make pencil sharpeners for kindergartners only - in which case, the pencil has a shortened funnel shape rather than a narrow point to the pencil. In contrasts, this pencil sharpener makes a sharp point - something middle school, high school, and adults would like. I can't stand the ipointhalo from Westcott, for example, which was sold in Costco (it makes a point for really little kids and is useless for anyone else). We bought one of those and I have hated it ever since. So I looked for a long point pencil; this pencil sharpener from Tihoo is much better! It produces a classical sharp point on the standard pencil in standard setting (this is the setting I use). For artists who want to sharpen with a very long point (the led point is long!), they can adjust the setting to long point mode in about 1 second.The reason for giving it only 4 stars was the fact that the auto off feature turns the sharpener off exactly (or so it seems) when the pencil is sharp. I wish the motor would make a few more turns. Taking the pencil out and reinserting it will not turn the sharpener back on. The benefit is that the life span of the pencil is increased.The reason I chose this sharpener over the Afmat long point sharpener was because they designed the Afmat so it couldn't be used while charging; this was a deal breaker for me as I don't want to rely on a battery only. The Tihoo can be used while it is charging/plugged in.Please note that when you first receive the sharpener, the lights will not turn on and the sharpener will not work even when plugged in for about 30 minutes. This is a first time use issue before the motor or lights will turn on. If you plug it in and walk away for a little while and come back, it should soon work and continue to do so thereafter.I recommend this sharpener!

This was the most unique sharpener I've owned. It produces a super long tapered point that enhances accuracy as well as extending the length of time between sharpenings. When a little dull I give the pencil a quick twirl on a sandpaper and it's good to go.Good with all degrees of graphite, Nero pencils, wax coloring pencils. Sometimes chalk or charcoal can break, but I learned to "hold back" and finish these with a sand block.Just as it gives an extended point, a greater amount of medium surface is exposed providing enhanced line thickness variation.Recommend every serious artist have one. You'll love it!

A week into using this sharpener, have sharpened over 10 different pencils ranging 8B to 6H of different makes. Works perfectly as advertised. I have measured the lengths of the pencils before and after to make sure I am not loosing any major chunks of graphite. The sharpener stops automatically, exactly at the right moment. 2 modes for different length work as expected.Something to keep in mind, the sharpener doesn't turn on if the battery is too low. I had to wait for at least 15-20 minutes of charging the first time and I almost was deciding on initiating a return. Just be patient the first time. Other thing, the length at shorter setting is longer than regular sharpeners. So, unless you are into art, it might not be best fit for regular writing.

Completely defective out of the box. Plugging the sharpener into multiple power outlets via both A/C and USB charging ports resulted in absolutely nothing; no indicator lights on the sharpener; placing a pencil in the sharpener resulted in nothing. I even gave it time to charge up and still no indication of power to the sharpener. Opening the battery compartment reveals a cheap looking battery with wires crudely soldered onto the terminals. I’d advise to not buy anything Tihoo. Extremely disappointed as I have seen videos demonstrating nice results with respect to sharpening.

if you don't have a computer you won't be able to charge it, for me it was a waste of time

sharpener works great! does everything it says. a small note: when you get it you need to charge it for a bit first before the lights turn on. i didn't know this at first and thought it was broken but after a few minutes the lights came on. i love how it stops once the pencil is sharp. another note...if your sharpening a brand new unsharpened pencil, it will seem like the sharpener isn't gonna stop like it says it does, but dont worry, it's just cuz it takes a little longer to get it down to the proper size. once you have sharpened it, the 2nd time won't take as long. the battery seems to last a while. as for size, its takes about as much room on my desk as a large coffee mug, like a tall travel mug. all in all it seems like a good quality product. i am very happy with mine

So far so good. Ordered it one day received it the next. Does what it says it is suppose too! Also less expensive than similar sharpeners. I believe the price is the same as the US. You don't see that very often. Also I didn't expect to receive the electrical plug but it was in the box, nice surprise.

Hello. The product was ok. There were two settings for the pencil sharpening state. Unfortunately, after sharpening the pencil, the setting would change / rotate and thus had to reset each time. Battery charges fast. The barrel holds plenty of shavings. Auto stop was fine.

The shipment arrived a few days earlier than expected. Documentation was poorly written, probably by someone whose first language is not english... The shavings container opens from the top, but also has a central opening at the bottom, and can be very messy if not careful. The sharpener removes a little of pencil casing quickly, and the auto stop works well, but an actual point is not produced. After using the sharpener, I still sand the pencil to get a point.

I was having a hard time keeping my pencils sharpened to a long tip. I thought I would try this sharpener and am so pleased with the performance.Really though it will sharpen to any length. It keeps the tip so nice and point is perfect for detailed work.This is a very, very good sharpener.It has saved me time. I recommend this product.

I absolutely love this pencil sharpener. Not only does it sharpen my pencils to a very long, sharp point, it does so with no lead breakage. The shavings are very small and compact. Best pencil sharpener I have ever owned.
